Candy Coloured Wedding Inspiration with 50′s Flair

Morning brides-to-be! Are we all happy this morning? Well, I’ve got a little shoot to share this morning that’s sure to put a smile on your face.  Alongside editing b.loved blog and styling gorgeous weddings and events for b.loved couples, I’m also regularly invited to style product shoots, events and workshops with my industry friends and colleagues.  They’re a great way to meet fabulous new suppliers to share with you right here, and it’s one of those suppliers who’s work I’m thrilled to showcase today.  I met Maxeen from Maxeen Kim Photography at The Editorial Wedding workshop earlier this year.  One of our fabulous students, we’ve kept in touch since and it’s been great to share and support Maxeen as her business grows.

To put into practice what she learned on the workshop, Maxeen pulled together this pretty fifties-inspired shoot.  Using pretty candy colours, as opposed to the typical combination of red, black & white, the team created a fresh and modern version of retro cool.

The riverside venue is the perfect spot for an intimate city wedding, so the team ditched traditional centrepieces for hassle-free decor.  Brightly coloured tissue paper pom poms from Eagle Eyed Bride add a splash of colour over the table, prettily set with pastel-coloured crockery.

Embracing the trend for coloured wedding dresses, this gorgeous minty lace tea-length dress from Gigi’s is the perfect mix of flirty retro and pretty modern style.  The bow detail on the back is just adorable – remembering that all your guests see is the back of your dress as you say your vows!

As a cute alternative to florals, Eagle Eyed Bride also created this cute pompom bouquet.  I’d love to see a bride carry a large version of this down the aisle, smaller versions for her maids and pompom wands for her flower girls, so easily customisable to your wedding colours!

I love how this birdcage veil from HT Headwear adds a touch of retro style to the bride’s otherwise modern look – statement jewellery and matching pink lips!
