This simple garland is the perfect accessory to add to any event, especially your modern wedding. It’s easy to make, just requires a bit of time. Let’s get crackin!
Supplies: paper color of your choice, circle cutter (I got mine from here) OR scissors, sewing machine, thread
Step 1: Cut out your circles in any size you want. We did 6″ circle here.
Step 2: Fold the circle in half.
Step 3: Fold the circle in half the other way.
Step 4: Fold the circle in half two more times so that there are 8 pieces total. The folds should go in and out, meaning that every other fold should be going the same way.
Step 5: Cut out two of the pieces with scissors.
Step 6: Sew down one line of the circle.
Step 7: Continue sewing down each paper fold onto the next circle. I left about 3-4″ between circles. I also alternated which line I sewed down to add variety to the look of the garland.
Voila!
UPDATE: Turns out, there’s a great French designer, Maïze, who has been making garlands like this for awhile. Though I was unfamiliar with her work, I think you should buy from her! She’s got lots of amazing garlands. Here’s her website. - Brittany Watson Jepsen of The House That Lars Built
