The Winner of the Wedding Photography Competition with Alexa Loy Announced

via

This afternoon i am over the moon to announce the winner to a very special competition that has been running here at WWW.

Award winning photographer and WWW sponsor Alexa Loy decided to give away a wedding photography package to one WWW reader and so many of you lovelies entered to win. Well Alexa is here to share with you the lucky winning couple. I cannot wait to see their wedding plans unfold. Thank you so much to Alexa and to each and every one of you that entered :-) XOXO Lou

I had loads of entries and was pretty much overwhelmed with the amount of effort people had put in and how friendly they all were – thank you to every single one of you who entered – there were over 45 of you!  I wish I could’ve picked them all. In the end I put the entries I loved into a hat and pulled one out – it was the only way to choose as I wanted to do all of them!

I was so glad Lorna and Neil won – they sound like they want to have a lot of fun on their wedding day and have a really relaxed feel to it. I called Lorna on the phone yesterday to tell her and she was a little bit speechless! I can’t wait to work with them! For me, it was never about the style of wedding (although theirs does sound ace!) I just want to work with a friendly couple who like to party for my project and these guys sound like just my cup of tea :)  I love the personal details they are including and any time anyone mentions a silent disco to me I get a bit happy!

Lorna and Neil’s entry

I run my own business for interior textile accessories, been going for almost 4 years.  Neil is my super supportive fiancé, he will often put in a full day and come and help me in the evenings, especially around xmas time when life gets a bit hectic.

In a nutshell Neil and I are getting married in May 2014.  We wanted something a bit different for our wedding, this weekend we are off to our 10 wedding in just over two years so the thought of a classic wedding package makes us cringe. (no offence to people that do them, it’s just not us)

We have decided on having a wedding in a huge field in Market Bosworth. We love yurts and have booked a round pavilion yurt with a side bar yurt, hog roast, fresh salad and all importantly a cake table where we ask people to bring cakes…. there will be a winner judged by ourselves (the things we do for entertainment!)

The ceremony will also be in the field – we want hay bales creating the isle with a backdrop of fields and maybe a few sheep thrown in. We are aware that the weather may not always be on our side so we have a back up plan of getting married in the yurt and I’m already trying to source yellow wellingtons. The ceremony isn’t a legal ceremony but will be performed by ladies who are registered registrars so it looks the same. We will be legally getting married with 7 close family members on Thursday morning at Coventry registry office.

During the traditional photo taking time it’s really important to us that everyone is involved in these photos. We want fun, silly, things that will make use laugh when we look back in many years time….. We want to laugh so much out cheeks ache

The decoration will be big tissue pompoms hanging from trees, jam jars with tea lights lining walk ways in the field, fire pits to toast marshmallows on and hay bale seating areas.

My mum died when I was young and my dad is letting me use the lace from her dress to use in mine, so it will make it extra special. Neil is thinking a navy suit at the moment, he’s also toying with the idea of turning one of my designs into a bow tie for the day.

As with all things we do we want everyone to get involved and have a good time. the thought of a wedding finishing at 12 is a no no for us, so we have a silent disco which carries on for as long as the last person is standing.
