Woodland-Inspired Indoor Wedding: Maura + Jim

Woodland-Inspired Indoor Wedding: Maura + Jim

via

Maura is a talented jewelry designer with amazing taste, so when she + Jim began planning their elegant Philadelphia mansion wedding, they were sure to include lots of gorgeous + intentional details to perfectly reflect their artistic personalities. And for all of you lovelies who are planning an indoor wedding, but want to create a warm + lush atmosphere, be sure to take note! Maura + Jim did a brilliant job of bringing their vision to life:

Definitely our inspiration was centered around a woodland, flora/fauna theme. Our very talented friend Ashley actually hand-depicted us as our “spirit animals” of sorts that we then incorporated into the designs for our save-the-dates, shower invitations, wedding invitations + even our table number. Jim is the deer, I am the fox. We loved that she gave us accessories in the illustrations like a bow-tie and a necklace! :)

I would have to say it was a tie between our "first-look" photo session outside in Rittenhouse square (so great to just relax – just the two of us, and have fun before all of the festivities) and the latter portion of the reception (where many of my younger cousins blew my mind with their break-dancing skills – who knew?)

Processional: Bridal Party: Tommib – Squarepusher; Bride: Claire de Lune – Claude Debussy

Recessional: Plainsong – The Cure

First Dance: Never my Love – The Association

So in love with the playful, woodland vibe Maura + Jim created for their reception!

Make it your own without killing yourself OR breaking the bank. We developed an inspiration board for colors and vibe, then sourced almost all of our decor including frames, vases, votive-holders and flora/fauna figurines at my favorite thrift, vintage and antique stores . Contrary to popular belief, you CAN have fun as your own wedding planner! Also, remember to have fun and do what you want on the big day — photos are fantastic momentos but nothing compares to memories you make of the fun you had with family, friends, and of course, your partner in crime. You both deserve it after all of your hard work!

Eat, drink, smile, laugh, mingle, love.
