Helen + Patrick’s Hollywood Hills engagement session, captured by Chaffin Cade Photography, was very unique in so many ways! Not many people get the chance to shoot, or even stand, super close to the Hollywood sign. There is crazy security surrounding it at all times + multiple permit offices to go through to be eligible to shoot there. And even though this shoot was done legally, with all the permits in place + a park’s office guide tagging along, police helicopters still flew by, notifying the group to “get away from the L” or risk being arrested! Luckily the police were eventually informed that they were allowed to be there + the shoot was able to go on! Hey, at least it makes for a good story, right?! ;)

From Emily of Chaffin Cade Photography, When people see the Hollywood Sign, they think of wonderful possibilities, adventure and dreams. Not only does the simple sign inspire all of the artists that live and work right here in Hollywood, but I think it’s a great symbolism for marriage as well! Helen and Patrick, actors themselves, agreed.

This shoot was not for the faint of heart! Getting down to the sign is no easy task. It’s incredibly steep, and easy to get a lot of dirt on you, but once you get to the sign, it’s totally worth it! You have a gorgeous view of the city, all while being one of the few to stand next to a sign that’s been a symbol of Hollywood – recognized all over the world for 90 years (it was put up in 1923). Very cool…

The second part of the shoot was done at the large plateau below the Hollywood Sign and Helen + Patrick were dressed very Old Hollywood Glam! LOVE her sparkly, gold dress!
