Though they woke up to thunderstorms on the day of their wedding, Leslie and Nick were able to have the outdoor ceremony they originally planned for: “I looked out the bridal loft window to see the guests arrive, and then I looked up and the skies parted right before my eyes. The rain stopped and the sun began to shine through. This meant we could have our ceremony outside as planned. It was such a relief!”

Special guests wore corsages of pale pink and deep purple ranunculus.

Says Leslie, “My favorite moment with Nick was when we walked down the aisle together as a married couple. It was the happiest moment of my life.”

“We wanted our wedding to highlight the beauty of Green Bluff and early summer in our region. We envisioned our guests being relaxed and able to truly enjoy the celebration of our love. Friends and family are such a huge part of our lives and we are truly thankful for the foundation they have given us as a couple. We called on family and friends to contribute their special talents to the wedding, and it just made the day even more special knowing how many of our loved ones came together to make it perfect.”

Instead of hiring a DJ, the couple made a playlist for the reception.

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  Green Bluff is a historic farming community that has so much character and beauty, and we loved the idea of getting married there. Trezzi Farm was the only wedding venue we looked at. We had never been there before but it immediately felt special to the both of us. The owners, Davide and Stephanie Trezzi, have done a fabulous job making their property feel like a little piece of Tuscany. Nick and I both appreciate simplicity, and no one does simplicity better than the Italians. We wanted our wedding to focus on love, family, and delicious local food and wines – we had found our place.

What advice do you have for other brides?  Create a detailed wedding day timeline! This is one of the best things I did in preparation for the wedding. Start this early, about a month before the wedding. Make it as detailed as possible. Chances are you won’t stick to it exactly, but it makes you realize how many things you have to cram into the day. Give a copy of the timeline to anyone in your wedding or involved in making your wedding happen. Also, on your wedding day be sure to remember the true meaning of the day. It is a celebration between you, your partner, and those nearest and dearest to your heart.

Do you have any budget tips for other brides?  It is one thing to be thrifty when planning a wedding, but don’t cut corners. I was really overwhelmed about the budget when I first began planning. Nick and I decided what the most important aspects of our wedding were and really splurged on them. Then we went thrifty on some other things that weren’t as vital. We put money towards our photography because we knew that was going to be such a valuable part of our wedding, then we saved money on other things.
