Amanda & Jake | Jackson Hole Wedding by Carrie Patterson

Amanda & Jake | Jackson Hole Wedding by Carrie Patterson

Today, Snippet & Ink Select vendor Carrie Patterson takes us to Jackson Hole for a sweet, laid-back wedding…

Amanda and Jake chose a venue where their immediate families could spend the weekend.

Says Amanda, “Having the ceremony and reception in the same location really helped with how relaxed the day was. Everyone was given a glass of champagne when they arrived and could immediately start the cocktail hour right after the reception.”

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?
We knew we wanted to rent a place for the wedding where we could have both the ceremony and the reception, and we wanted to be able to stay there with our immediate families. Jake is from Colorado and I spent a summer in Yellowstone National Park so Jackson Hole made sense. We found the villa and just feel in love with it. It was the first time a wedding had taken place there so we were taking a bit of a risk and also didn’t really have a Plan B if it rained. But it turned out to be perfect.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?
We were both really on the same page that we wanted a relaxed and fun party that included a pig roast. We also wanted it to be outside. So that was really our inspiration. My mom also really helped with the whole look and feel.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?
I really loved dinner. It was so relaxed and fun without set seating. Everyone just mingled and had fun and food and wine was delicious. Dancing after dinner was also so much fun. We put together a really fun mix of 80′s music and our favorite songs.

What was the best advice you received as a bride?
To take a few minutes alone as a couple during the weekend to really absorb everything. It all goes by so quickly. And I’m really happy I took that advice to heart. The few moments alone with Jake that weekend are moments I will never forget.

What advice do you have for other brides?
It sound cliché but I would say to have fun. At the end of the day, I had a blast the entire weekend and I’m happy I didn’t try to make it more formal than it was. It really was just a big party with our best friends and family and that’s exactly what we wanted.

Do you have any budget tips for other brides?  Having the ceremony and reception in the same location really saved us money and transportation fees getting from one place to the other. Being able to supply our own alcohol really saved us money too.

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of the day?  Ryan Wright rented us the villa and offered to help with catering when we mentioned we wanted a pig roast. He and Joey Maligalig don’t own an official catering company but Ryan put together an amazing team of local chefs including Joey who created the perfect pig roast. It was everything we wanted it to be and more. We took a bit of a risk not hiring a local catering company but it paid off in spades and saved us some money.
