A Bright Boho Beach Shoot

A Bright Boho Beach Shoot

via

Morning readers!  We’ve a little something to brighten up your day courtesy of Emma from Ladybird Flowers, Jane Mires Photography and a team of fabulous suppliers to inspire you!  This bold and beautiful beach shoot is the perfect antidote to a blustery Autumn day.  A complete contrast to the pale & interesting colours of the beach, they picked a rich and vibrant palette of red and yellow  to add a touch of sunshine.  How much do you love that floral crown?

Enjoy lovelies, here’s Emma to tell us more ~

As the shoot was taking place on the beach, I immediately visualised a tempestuous, dramatic ocean with a slightly moody sky.  Thankfully Mother Nature was very kind and gave us the perfect background!  I wanted to work with the wonderful natural colours of the beach to enhance the bold colours from the flowers.  To suit the romantic style of the shoot I felt it was important to create this with flowers that were bold and striking to both compliment the bride’s natural beauty and enhance the delicate detail on the dress.  I knew the bride had dark hair which would work perfectly with striking colours.

I used deliciously fresh roses that worked amazingly well against the golden yellow sunflowers.  I wanted to create a large floral headband for the bride to create a unique take on a romantic photo-shoot.  I think the size and positioning created the perfect look without detracting from the other wonderful features of the shoot.  The colours that I used worked perfectly against the brides white delicate wedding dress, porcelain skin and dark hair, teaming this with the beach just worked perfectly.  As the flowers are bright and vibrant, it creates a look of less is more.  I only made one hand tie and a headband, with a few long stemmed roses for effect.  This shows that, even if on a tight budget, using these colours and pieces, you can keep costs to a minimum whilst producing a stunning result.

For our dreamy and romantic look, with a totally effortless feel and something a bride could easily replicate herself we chose the dress by Charlotte Casadejus because of its very fluid movement and very romantic feel for a beach location.   Mel Kinsman created a vintage-with-a-twist makeup look to match the bold flowers and model’s colouring.  Bold vintage – with Red Lips!  Unfortunately, due to the wind that day, hairstyling ideas were literally blown out of the equation!  We wanted 40’s style curls, but just let nature do its thing which worked well with the beach theme!
