Brittany and Justin decided to break with tradition and see each other before their ceremony. In fact, the two kicked off their wedding day with a breakfast date at their local Smitty’s restaurant. After breakfast, Brittany and Justin parted ways—each heading to separate locations to get dressed. Back at Brittany’s apartment, her mother and best friends were waiting to help her transform into a bride. “One of my friends, a skilled hairstylist, did my hair and I did my own makeup,” Brittany explains. “And my mother laced up my gown.” Then it was off to the Canadian Mennonite University for a “first look” photo session with Justin. The university holds special meaning for the two as they met here during their first year of studies. Other highlights of the evening celebration included an ice cream sundae bar and a photo booth complete with props from Brittany’s childhood tickle trunk.
