Braelyn & Rob | Lighthouse Wedding in Rhode Island

A lovely lighthouse wedding from Erin McGinn today… how gorgeous is this bride’s dress?! She was inspired by her rose gold engagement ring, and I can totally see that blush color echoed in the sequined ribbons on her gown…

The bride’s bouquet included pale pink and yellow garden roses and a variety of foliage. Says the bride, “I had my grandmother’s lace handkerchief wrapped around my floral bouquet. As my mother walked me down the isle, it was great to know that my grandmother was right there with us.”

“As residents of Newport, Rhode Island, we could not have chosen a better place to encompass all that we love and enjoy together then at the Hyatt Regency Newport. The location is absolutely beautiful, with a panoramic view of Newport Harbor.”

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  What truly inspired me when planning our wedding was my engagement ring. The ring is made of rose gold and diamonds, and its whimsical and vintage look really helped me choose the overall theme and elements of our wedding.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  Our favorite moment of the day was when we were introduced as husband and wife at our reception. We came out as Mr. and Mrs Anton. to one of our favorite songs, “Howlin’ For You” by the Black Keys. As we were dancing, we were completely in our own element and enjoying every part of the moment.

What was the best advice you received as a bride?  Your ceremony concludes, and you are introduced as husband and wife for the very first time. As you turn toward your family and friends, pause together and take that moment to look around at all the people who came to share and join in celebrating your marriage. It is truly an amazing experience.

What advice do you have for other brides?  Stop, breathe, pause, and look around you. Take in and really enjoy every moment with your new husband. It is the beginning of your new life together, so make sure to take mental snapshots of all of your favorite moments.

Do you have any budget tips for other brides?  Budget tip number one, STICK TO YOUR BUDGET! Financial stress is not a good way to start off a marriage. Although it is very difficult to not get caught up in the trendy fashions of designing your ultimate wedding, just remember that the day is about you and not all of the accoutrements.
