The Meeting...

We met on 21 st July 2007 at a friend's joint birthday party, where we were introduced by one of Clara's best friends. We began dating from day 1 and have been inseparable since. We could accept each other's flaws and were able to complement each other in our weaknesses.

The Proposal...

David proposed at our apartment on 30 th November 2012 where we will begin married life.

Wedding Planning...

We wanted a combination of Western and Chinese culture in our wedding, hence colours used were traditional white/ivory and red. The ceremony was held at a vintage wedding chapel with no religious attachment with the presence of a celebrant, while the reception was held at a traditional Chinese restaurant with a 10 course menu.

Ceremony Location...

Inglewood Estate in Eltham - we fell in love with the venue after visiting during the summer. It was a field of greens with a rustic touch.

Reception Venue...

Golden Dragon Palace

The Dress...

Sophia Tolli full lace gown with a beautiful train and a keyhole in the back. This was bought at a hidden gem in Blackburn called L'amour Boutique. This was inspired by the fact that I wanted a gown which was elegant and also matched our vintage theme well.

The Flowers...

The bouquets were made up of pink/ivory peonies and roses with silver foliage to give a soft but classic look.

Wedding Style...

This was most definitely a DIY wedding with all table decorations, name cards handmade. We used the heart suit of playing cards as our table numbers as cards were one of the grooms favourite. Beside the table number we placed red and pink candles. Being a traditional chinese wedding, there were transparent lazy susans which we sprinkled with red crystal confetti as the cloth was white for contrast. Overall, the venue was already well decorated with a vintage touch.

The Cake...

We bought cup cakes from Little Cup Cakes for guests to enjoy as dessert. This was included in our wedding menu already. In addition, we bought another domed shape cake with floral decorations on top from Cocoa Patisserie in Kew for the "cutting cake" ceremony.

On the Menu...

We had a sit down 10 course meal. The menu consisted of chicken, prawns, crab, lobsters and other dishes. All the dishes imply good fortune for the newlyweds.

Wedding Favour...

We bought chocolates placed in a small floral gift box.

Wedding Photography...

In our initial meeting, Jay (of Qlix Photography) showed us his passion for photography and his style of work. He focuses on film photography which brings out the colour of the photos. This captured David's interest and we decided to have him as our photographer.

During our pre wedding shoot, he would always provide guidance but also allowed us to bring out our own character into the photos. Jay and his team had such friendly personalities that made both David and I and all our guests very comfortable and enjoyable during our wedding day. We love that our photos really bring out true happiness and the colours are simply amazing. All our important moments were captured perfectly. Everyone looked so natural.

Memorable Moments...

There were too many highlights. These included morning ceremony where the groom has to go through various stages (games prepared by the bridesmaids) to get the bride - David and the groomsmen had to go through quite a few embarrassing games. Also walking down the aisle and saying our vows, that moment was unforgettable.

Wedding Soundtrack...

This was prepared by one of the bridesmaid whom I requested find music we grew up with - music from the late 90's and early year 2000. Our first dance was "Kiss Me" by Sixpence none the richer.
