Once in a while, you spot a Craigslist "missed connection" story that's so lovely, you want to believe it's true -- and not the work of some bored writer.

The "missed connection" below certainly fits the bill.

In the post, the man recalls how he married a woman back in the 1980s to win a bet placed by a college buddy. "Half-drunk, and half-in love" when they said "I do," the pair rushed to have the marriage annulled three days later. Distance and time had separated them until just recently, when the man says he spotted his "ex-wife" on the L Train in New York City.

Instead of hopping off at her stop and chasing her down, the man took to Craigslist to ask her for coffee -- and we're sure glad he did. The "missed connection" he wrote is a beautiful read. It's since been removed from Craigslist, but you can read it in its entirety below:
