If you think boho weddings have to be vintage-inspired and filled with details, then today's gorgeous shoot will make you think again! Photographed by Emma Pilkington, whose background is in fashion photography, this minimal take rewrites the rule books. Shot in an editorial style, with clean white backgrounds and pared-back details this beautiful series of images inspires a whole new take on rustic.

White and green, the cleanest and chic-est of colour palettes, creates a fresh and contemporary look. Careful use of deeper colours and texture - the green sash, the lace embellished dresses - add enough interest to prevent the look becoming boring whilst still remaining clean and modern. Hair and make up styling is kept to a minimum with neutral tones creating a fresh-faced book. Soft updo's and loose braids create a carefree feel, letting the dress do the talking. As Emma explains, simplicity is key...

We used soft white, green and peach colours - the vintage dresses we used were very feminine, and I wanted to use a colour palette that complimented them. I wanted the images to be very feminine and clean, to show of the beautiful vintage dresses (and models!) to their full potential. I like to use soft and subtle colours in my work to compliment the use of natural light, which I love oh so very much! The Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Liverpool is without doubt one of my favourite North West wedding venues. The light on a sunny day is ethereally beautiful, and it was the perfect choice!

The vintage dresses are all from Bold Street Bridal, a vintage wedding dress shop within Little Red Vintage, Liverpool. All of the dresses were under £300, which we thought would be great inspiration to show that beautiful doesn't have to be expensive! We also used wild flowers, mainly white gypsophila with vintage teacups and cake stands as props in our shoot, in keeping with our laid-back boho styling. The make-up artist that I worked with on this shoot, Collette Thorpe, created a combination of classic beauty looks and a more contemporary boho style in a colour palette of browns and pinks.

Will we see some New Boho W-day style from you lovely lot this year?
