If the title of this wedding hasn't got your heart pumping already then honestly folks what the heck is wrong with you!

I promise you what you're about to see is truly epic. This folks is how to do a super cool, super chic, city wedding.

Cheryl and Brooke married in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona at Santa Anna church and then whizzed off on Trixi bikes afterwards to their favourite champagne bar to celebrate. I'm told by David from Modern Vintage Weddings that they and their wedding party just rocked up in ten of these bikes and ordered 30 bottles of Champagne before heading to Hotel Mercer for dinner by Barcelona's best chef.

How insanely rock and roll is that?

There are so many things I love about this wedding that I'd be here until Midnight listing them all for you but I will say that Cheryl's headpiece is perhaps the most beautiful hair accessory I've seen this year and I absolutely most definitely need a gold lead embellished cake in my life.

Cheryl The Bride: Having our wedding in the beautiful Barcelona was a no-brainer for us - we fell in love with the city after our first Valentine's getaway together seven ago and have visited many times since. We knew that the historical gothic architecture would make the perfect backdrop for our small, intimate ceremony and for our guests who had not had the pleasure of visiting the city before, we knew it would be a weekend they would remember.

My husband visited the city with his best man a few months before the wedding to scope out venues for the ceremony and reception. He did a wonderful job and he found one of the oldest Churches in the city, Santa Anna. With its tranquil cloister and interior steeped in history it was absolutely perfect. I later learned that we visited this very same church seven years earlier on our Valentine's trip and we have photos of us together in the grounds! (He remembered!)

We held the reception in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter at the beautiful Mercer - designed by Spanish architect Raphael Moneo. The hotel incorporates part of the Roman walls of the ancient city of Barcino, some of which date back to the 1st century A.D. The hotel was amazing and the staff were so helpful; nothing was too much trouble for them.

Most of the gothic quarter is pedestrianised so when we stepped out of Santa Anna as husband and wife, there was only one mode of transport that would do to take us and our thirty guests back to El Born - a fleet of Barcelona's famous trixi bikes! It was a real show stopper and we felt like celebrities as we weaved in and out of the crowds on Plaça Nova, all cheering and waving as we rode past.

Our first stop on the way back from the church was La Vinya Del Señor, a delightful al fresco wine bar which sits cosily opposite Santa Maria Del Mar Cathedral. With its street performers and bustling atmosphere it really got the party started! After a good few bottles of local cava we made it back to the Mercer for canapés, wine and more Cava followed by a delicious three course meal. After we had finished eating and the speeches were over we took our guests to the lift which accessed the rooftop bar and pool area. We had arranged for an acoustic spanish guitarist to play Flamenco style music while the bartenders made sure that we had a constant supply of mojitos and strawberry daiquiri's (our favourites) late into the night!

Looking back at the pictures of the day, we really do feel blessed. We not only had the most beautiful wedding but our photographers managed to effortlessly capture the essence of the day in those shots. We personally loved David's own creative photography and wanted him to have a lot of freedom with our wedding pics - we really clicked and just had 100% faith in him. My biggest worry for the wedding, before I'd booked anyone, was the photography - I am so fussy! You want those pictures to evoke the feelings you had at that moment and David and Mark have done that exceptionally.

Our first top tip for any couples thinking of getting married abroad is to find a photographer whose own personal projects you like if you cant make up your mind simply from looking through their wedding work - you have to remember a lot of couples impose their own set of do's and don'ts on the day and so the work may not fully represent the photographer usual style or vision.

Our second tip is to get a local wedding planner. Even if you speak the language, the chances are you won't have the local knowledge and connections which are so important, its definitely worth finding the extra money in your budget.

And lastly, relax. What will be will be. There's no point getting stressed about things that you forgot to pack or the weather. Focus on your friends, family and the person standing opposite you at the altar.
