A Fusion Welsh Greek Cypriot Wedding.

A Fusion Welsh Greek Cypriot Wedding.

Amy and Andy certainly know how to throw a party. And throw a party they did - more specifically a big day that embraced a fusion of Welsh and Greek Cypriot wedding traditions and I have a feeling that you're going to love it!

Personally I have a lot of love for this wedding. Amy's exquisite lace Claire Pettibone wedding gown? Yep love that! The luscious colour pop bouquet? Adore that! The floral pitchers used for the table centrepieces? Absolutely need those in my life! And let's not forget the epic dancing at the end - those guests have ALL the moves!

Lastly don't you think that Amy's dad looks as proud as punch walking her down the aisle.

Adorable!

Amy The Bride:Getting married in a rural location in a really old Church meant that I wanted to achieve quite a vintage look with my dress. The dress was quite detailed in itself which meant I didn't need to go to town on accessories. The lace look of the dress was great in tying in with the Greek Orthodox ceremony - lace = Cyprus!

Andy wanted something classic for his suit. Our names and the wedding date under his collar was a nice touch and means the suit is something he'll keep forever.

I knew I wanted to get married in Wales in my hometown straight away, and I was lucky as Andy thinks North Wales is one of the nicest places in the world too! We had strict requirements of wanting somewhere quite relaxed where we could dress the place as we pleased and also party all night long. Tros Yr Afon fulfilled both those requirements & was a perfect place for us.

We wanted lots of colour and quirky little trinkets. Everyone asked us what our colour scheme was but we didn't really have one! If we liked the colour, we included it!!

When it came to the flowers I wanted something quite vintagey, with lots of colour and quite a natural kind of look. Sioned was the best florist I've ever seen. The flowers were just perfect.

We wanted something that wasn't satin for the bridesmaid dress, something that fell a bit more naturally. Maids To Measure had dresses that exactly matched that description and the service we received was incredible.

The mix of a Welsh choir with a Greek Orthodox ceremony made for quite an occasion! We included all the Greek traditions and then had a Welsh person finish off with Ave Maria. It was perfect!

We knew we wanted a great Indie band for the evening entertainment and so Undercover Monkeys were the only consideration really. They were fab! And then Greek music to entertain whilst we ate was very in keeping with the day.

Amy Swann Cakes are cakes like no other. All the flowers are made from sugar even though they look 100% real. She's a very clever lady. Ye Olde Bulls Head Inn made the most amazing canapés for us. We wanted something that wouldn't be disastrous if someone spilled it on their top (no beetroot!) but ones that were also filling to soak up all that champers. They were delicious! Marc McCauley produced the rest of the food and everything was cooked to perfection. It was light and filling at the same time.

Catherine from Lily & Frank Photography was a godsend! She has a lovely manner about her yet (isn't in your face AT ALL) yet captures all the best moments and even the best ones you missed on the day. If I ever need another event photographed, she's the only photographer I'd want.
