From Anna Collius of Pretty Miss Events: "I am the farmer's daughter. I am my mother's sunshine. Today, I get married to the boy who has held my hand, pushed me in the tire swing and helped in my grandpa's general store." This was our inspiration as we set out to design this vendor collaboration. We love small towns. They have a special place in our hearts. The antique stores are like treasure troves and have a piece of history in each piece. There's wonderful, thought out architecture in the town square and somewhere on the outskirts of town, a beautiful full-of-love farmhouse. This is where we envisioned our farmer's daughter wanting to start her new life."
"We brought in pieces that we have found on our antiquing road trips from all over the Midwest. 'Grandma's trunk', depression-era glass, doilies found in the attics of abandoned lofts in barns. (Yeah, that happened
) We like to layer textures and we created an aesthetic that is more rustic chic than luxe. The clothes featured on our bridegroom is reminiscent of a by gone era where men dressed like gentlemen and the dresses for our bride were chosen because of the beautiful attention to detail. The beaded dress could have been worn at a 1930s party and could have been found in a trunk once belonging to her grandmother, as well as the lace dress that could have been her mother's own wedding gown." "As with all of our events, all of our details are planned out with purpose. We love and strive to incorporate intimate details unique to each couple. This isn't just a trip down the aisle, it's a lifelong journey that's blended generations of families in marriage. Included in this shoot, was a quick boudoir inspired set. The dusty blue silk négligée was found in basement of a shop in an antique wardrobe in Fort Wayne, IN and was something we definitely wanted to incorporate." "In addition to designing events, we also work with boudoir photographers to design sets and source wardrobe and love to help clients find unique pieces. As someone who has previous experience in the fashion industry, Anna recognized a need for this kind of service and offers this to our clients and fellow vendors. Who doesn't love pretty silk? For this project, we could think of no one better than Michelle Condne of Captures For Keeps Photography. This little dynamo is a fantastically talented photographer! The way she lights the frame. The magical softness. It's too much. Her eye captured this shoot with the grace and style David and I imagined. We contacted graphic designer and stationer, Karrie Brock, with our vision and what we hoped our bride and groom's name might be and she ran with it." "The wooden invitations were laser burned and had beautiful calligraphic elements. Burned from a piece of thin wood, she burned the edges such that it looks like a piece of a branch was sliced. The wheat was a nice addition as well. She's designed a wonderful suite that matched the tone and colors that are so often captured by Michelle's lens. The lush cream and pink liner with their names adds a fantastic detail for guests. Our make up artist Natalie Henry did a beautiful job on our model's makeup. She works creatively in the industry and is a true professional! We are so grateful she could join us. Any bride would be lucky to have Natalie enhance their natural beauty on their big day."
