"Jeremy and I met while working together at Kelly O'Bryan's Restaurant in Kelowna, while we were both studying at UBC-Okanagan," Amanda explains. "Though it certainly wasn't love at first sight, Jeremy proved to be incredibly patient and a great listener (while I am not so patient and more of a talker) - which makes for a good balance. It didn't take long to determine that we both loved travelling and adventures - which was another great fit."

Although they found themselves living in different countries on several occasions over the next six years, they always found their way back to each other.

In February 2013, Amanda went to visit her brother in Saskatchewan for the weekend. While she was away, Jeremy prepared for the engagement. "We were living in Victoria, B.C., across from picturesque Beacon Hill Park," she says. "When I returned home, I found a bouquet of roses and a note (and a map) that informed me to meet Jeremy on the bridge at the park at 10am. After the lovely proposal, we took a walk together and went for brunch - it was the perfect morning!"

The two held their celebration at the lovely Hotel Eldorado in Kelowna, B.C., during Remembrance Day long weekend.

Woodsy accents, such as driftwood table numbers, filled Amanda and Jeremy's reception space complemented by pretty hydrangea, rose and spider mum centrepieces. Even the elegant, ruffled wedding cake paid homage to the rustic west coast with wooden floral accents and pine cone accoutrements.
