Pretty & Colourful Country Garden Wedding with a La Sposa Dress | Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

I so love a colourful summer homemade celebration, which is exactly what WWW readers Leanne and Troy had for their wedding back in August 2013. They had a church ceremony followed by a pretty garden marquee reception.

Think mismatched colours, floral table cloths, birdcages, afternoon tea and vintage crockery.

Leanne looked gorgeous in a lace gown by La Sposa with her hair in the perfect bouffant hair style. The bridesmaids wore fun polka dot dresses and Troy donned a traditional grey suit. I so love the pretty blooms too.

Thanks to Ashdown Wedding Photography for providing the fabulous imagery this afternoon.

The Venue... We got married at All Saints & St. Nicholas Church in Icklesham, the village where I grew up. My parents also got married there, almost 30 years to the day previously, which made it extra special. Our reception was held in a marquee on the grounds of Rye Rugby Club.

The Flowers... Were from our local florist Cafe des Fleurs. I pretty much knew straight away what I wanted and Lucy, the florist totally got it (when I said I wanted a bouquet bigger than my head she did not disappoint!). My bouquet was made up of pale pink garden roses (I wanted peonies, but Mother Nature was not on my side), white lisianthus, white roses, gyp, carnations, mini eden roses and eucalyptus. For the girls I knew I wanted bouquets made entirely of gyp. I found some vintage lace to tie around all of our bouquets and bought some navy polka dot ribbon for mine to match the bridesmaids dresses. For inside the church Cafe des Fleurs made up some jam jars with wild flowers to decorate the aisle. We also got them to decorate two birdcages which hung on shepherd's hooks outside the church door. For the reception, we hired bird cages and decorated them ourselves with flowers from my mum and nan's gardens - not only was it cheaper but one of my favourite memories of the wedding was watching all my friends decorate the bird cages the day before. And they looked amazing!
