A Wedding Cake Dilemma

A Wedding Cake Dilemma

via

When it comes to your wedding day there are a lot of decisions to make, we all know that, but how much thought have you put into your wedding cake? Will there be enough to go around, what kind of cake will it be, and will you or your new spouse be walking away from the cake cutting with frosting up the nose? Decisions, decisions-right?!

Well Ashley and Ben's gorgeous Grange Audubon Center wedding will help you to think all of this through. Plus there are some adorable details to be seen in the full gallery all captured by Studio127 Photography and don't forget to keep reading to see the full budget breakdown!

From Studio127 Photography:
This beautiful wedding was full of friends the couple had known for years, and the location was quaint and perfect. The old vintage truck parked in the field offered the cutest unplanned prop. Babies breath scattered around. Mint and coral mismatched bridesmaid dresses. Friends weren't just wedding guests; these talented people were vendors as well. It was a perfect day, one that should be shared with the world.

We love the ceremony set up for Ashley and Ben's outdoor wedding. Bunting, burlap, and baby's breath. Need we say more?

From The Bride:
If I were to do it all over again I would say don't sweat the small stuff! The wedding goes by too quick to fret over the weather, or things that you cannot change. I was checking my phone every 5 minutes for the local updates on the weather. One minute it would say 80% chance of rain, the next it would say sunny with a 0% chance of rain. I was too stressed about the weather to fully enjoy the getting ready process with my girls. I wish someone would have taken my phone and hid it. The weather ended up SO beautiful, the sun was shining, and the rain left just in time.

Steal Worthy Idea:
It appears that they hung cream fold-able business cards from a vintage shutter. If our eye is correct, it looks like they used the Martha Stewart printable template for their escort cards, go check it out!

Every table had a miniature wedding cake on it. Do you love this idea?

Spread the cake around!
How do you ensure that everyone at your big day gets plenty of cake? By giving each table their own mini cake to enjoy, of course! This makes all of your guests feel extra special and makes for a super cute centerpiece. I mean those mini bunting toppers are adorable, am I right?!

Alright wedding enthusiasts here is a classic conundrum that many couples face when it comes down to the cake cutting; To smash or not to smash cake into your new spouses face? This time honored tradition can be hilariously memorable or it could land you in the dog house soon after saying 'I do'.

Opinions are definitely divided, some consider it an act of aggression, tacky, humiliating, and down right rude to the point where smashing cake will equal an instant annulment of the wedding. Others find this all a light-hearted fun way to make the wedding memorable and to demonstrate their outlook on life as being fun and spontaneous. It is definitely a personal decision, what do you think?
