3 Ways to Use Texturizing Powder Today

Not that we consider heat styling to be the worst thing that ever happened to our morning routines, but it's safe to say we're happy to forgo a date with the curling iron every once in a while. That doesn't mean our tresses have to go untouched. Enter: texturizing powder. Just a dash makes all the difference.

1. Fatten Up Your Braid

Perfect plaits are so overrated. Make it a braid with body. Braid your hair as you normally would. Then simply sprinkle the powder down the center of the braid and muss it up with your fingers. The more you work in the product, the bigger your braid gets.

2. Create Tousled Waves

Give your natural texture a little extra oomph. Apply the powder all over and twist random sections for a beachy, tousled look. And for body at the crown, massage texturizing powder on the roots.

3. Make Your Messy Bun Messier

When it comes to messy buns, messier is always better. First, add texture to the length of your hair, then throw it up into a bun and play with it some more. Add a dash of product to your fingers for extra grip while you rough up your undone updo.

We used L'Oréal Professionnel True Grip Texturizing Powder to take these braids, buns and beachy waves from blah to beautiful, but a few of other favorites include Big Sexy Hair Powder Play and Redken Powder Grip 03 Texturizing Hair Powder .

Which look is your favorite? Tell us how you'll use texturizing powder in the comments below.
