So I know it's May, not February...but Valentines Day is a day that celebrates love and romance, as does a wedding...

So when we received this pretty shoot from photographer, Eva Sanders, we just knew we had to share it with you. Albeit a few months past February 14th.

The inspiration shoot features the gorgeous new collection from Corrine Smith, a Scottish designer who makes all of her pieces by hand.

Decadence celebrates 10 years of business for Corrine and is a truly stunning collection. I'm in love with the Magda headpiece, with a crystal and pearl detail and delicately draping gold chain.

I love the styling of this shoot too - elegant in it's simplicity, light bright and airy, but with warmth from the muted tones AND a sense of fun from the colour pop make-up and the floating paper hearts.

There's also a bouquet that will make you go weak at the knees and see carnations in a whole new light...just look at this image below...

Eva Sanders: Corrine Smith Design is having its 10 Year Anniversary this year and to celebrate she has created a beautiful new collection called Decadence. Corrine designs brow bands, hair vines, headdresses, hair pins and lots of other styles of jewellery and she makes everything by hand! When she approached me about photographing her new range, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to put our new studio through its paces!

Trying to get everyone together at the right time worked out quite well and the shoot landed four days before Valentines day! It was a natural progression to use the upcoming holiday as a theme, however I wanted to take a step away from the usual red roses and hearts cliché. I took the white of the studio and went from there, sticking to pale, gentle colours for a more subtle romantic setting. I also loved the idea of having floaty paper hearts everywhere so my assistant, Kelly, and I spent many painstaking hours punching heart shapes into grey tissue paper and threading them for backdrops!

My favourite way to photograph is to keep everything soft, bright and simple so I was in my element with this shoot! While Charlotte, our beautiful model, was in hair and makeup I spent a couple of hours photographing the jewellery and flowers to get some lovely detail shots. Once I started photographing Charlotte, we continued to change the hair, makeup and poses to give each image a different look.

Jaquie, the makeup artist, has found that her brides are becoming more adventurous with their makeup and wanted to move away from traditional bridal makeup but still give a look that is suitable for a real wedding. She went for a fairytale look with bold, twinkling eyeshadow that accented the muted tones of the shoot and made Charlotte's stunning features pop.

Lots of brides want to go for a soft, romantic look with long flowing curls but tend to shy away from it for fear of it collapsing during the day! However, Gail has learned a new technique called the LA Blowdry which involves rolling into pin-curls as the hair is drying. She also uses Avida styling products which are organic and, combined with the new technique, ensure the style holds all day. It also means you can have this look without smothering your hair in hairspray, keeping it smooth and natural!

Sofie, the florist, understood we wanted to stay away from red roses and that we were looking for a paler pallet to work with. She has a secret love of carnations and wanted to counteract their negative stereotype and show them in a fresh light. She decided to use soft green eucalyptus and pale pink, vintage carnations among other seasonal flowers and we absolutely love the bouquet she created!

All of these elements came together to create a beautiful collection of images that encompass the initial 'Pale Valentine' idea. It was so much fun to be a part of and I absolutely love the end result!
