Fashion Unfold a Twitter Conversation

Fashion Unfold a Twitter Conversation

via

Fashion Unfold is a twitter conversation that I have known about for a few months now. It started with me scanning twitter as we wanted to do research last year regarding bloggers. We were putting together a panel for the Fashion 360 Conference and wanted to understand some critical questions that Bloggers and Writers faced in the fashion industry.

So I came across Fashion Unfold and decided to participate to see what answers to my Blogger questions I could answer. Needless to say the twitter conversation lasted a hour although it felt like only 10 minutes had past. I received a ton of information to better advise the Fashion 360 staff.

This week I came back just to keep up with the pace as of course I had more questions for our upcoming conferences. Here are some really eye opening tweets I engaged in.

The first Fashion Unfold conversation I discovered was with Stephanie Pernas of . She stated that Bloggers sometimes purchase products from a brand and claim that it was a gift. Talk about lies, cheating and deceit to your followers. I cant wait to have one of our Blogger Panelist talk about this.

@DistrictFete @FashionUnfold the issue is transparency; disclosing something is a gift or PRETENDING it was when it isn't #fashionunfold

The next Fashion Unfold conversation I had was with a friend of District Fete, . He posed a question on authenticity. We are not experts in the fashion industry, but we know that authenticity is a word you want to tread softly with. With so many cases dealing with protecting fashion design s, it's important to be as authentic as possible.

Okay, I've seen this word come up, again. So who are some "blogs" that you consider authentic and why? #FashionUnfold @FashionUnfold - Elliot Carlyle PR (@ElliotCarlyle) May 13, 2014

The last conversation that came up was influence based. posed the below tweet and my response follows.

@Julienperreault @PrideandEgo people have confused popularity with having a legend of followers. Its the influence you want #FashionUnfold

I just think so many people get caught up in the numbers business as if we are all accountants. Julian along with others had great tips regarding influence and influence marketing that really made we think if bloggers understood the differences between the two. If so I look forward to learning how they are using this to their advantage.

To engage with like minded bloggers in your area check to see if we are hosting there. Do you plan to attend?
