Beautiful Dos Pueblos Ranch Wedding: Lara + David

Beautiful Dos Pueblos Ranch Wedding: Lara + David

via

Lara + David are artists by trade and one of their goals for their beautiful Dos Pueblos Ranch wedding was for it to reflect both of their creative sides. And so lots of handmade + hand-picked details were a must. Since they also happen to be big nature lovers, finding a SoCal venue that had a beach, the woods, AND a barn was a total bonus! They incorporated a little vintage flair into the setting in the form of fun design elements like an Edison light bulb installation suspended above the dance floor and an old timey photo booth adorned with past wedding photos of their relatives. We love that their day ended up feeling like the magical vintage wonderland they always envisioned! Here's more about it all from Lara:

Green Wedding Shoes is the blog I most frequented to seek out inspiration when I was planning my wedding. (Thanks, Lara!) The site really captures unique weddings that are not run of the mill. We picked a venue where everything had to be brought in, which also means a lot of work and a lot of decisions! We truly created our wedding from the ground up. We wrote our entire wedding ceremony, I designed my wedding dress, together we designed my engagement ring, we brought in all our decor and vases, we printed and framed old wedding photos of generations past....The best compliment we kept getting was: "this is so you!". I'm thrilled knowing we threw a really fun kick-ass party that also was so authentic to who we are.

Thanks so much to Kirsten Ellis for these super lovely images + congratulations to Lara + David!

We have a mild case of ring envy going on!

And their first look, in an old greenhouse, is way too gorge!

Gah, these little ones! Their vintage summer outfits are killing us! :)

Our first look was in an old green house. We took sunset photos on a cliff overlooking the ocean. We traipsed through horse stables, climbed train trestles and ran through the surf in our wedding dress and suit. We took advantage of every little bit this dynamic setting had to offer!

Floral prettiness by Blue Magnolia!

Processional: Bridal Party: Dance Me to the End of Love - Leonard Cohen; Bride: And I Love Her - The Beatles

Recessional: I Want to Love You Madly - Cake

First Dance: A mash up! Feeling Good - Nina Simone, Crazy in Love - Beyonce (version by the Puppini Sisters) + Fancy Footwork - Chromeo

And let's end this one with the super sweet film from the day, shot by Daniella Hovespian + edited by Lara!

When you create your wedding from the ground up, planning every detail, it's impossible not to feel disappointed when things go wrong. But my best advice to future brides is: Things will go wrong, they always do, laugh, don't think twice and go dance your butt off! The wedding flies by so fast, there's no time to not be fully present in the moment.
