Letters To My Love Styled Shoot

Wedding Friends is so proud and excited to share with the world one of the most spectacular posts on the blog up to date, the Letters To My Love underwater wedding styled shoot. Ilse Moore from Ilse Moore Art & Photography and her husband Shaun have embraced the underwater photography challenge a few months ago and they mastered it to perfection. Ilse gathered a team of experts and they planned the first underwater styled wedding shoot on Wedding Friends. Together with a highly professional team a masterpiece was created. Absolute Perfection did the flowers, styling and décor and this team really had their work cut out for them. All elements on the table needed to be glued onto the table in order to keep it from floating away. The Absolute Perfection team executed the brief tremendously well and a beautiful table was created. The stationery was designed by the creative team of Chrystalace Wedding Stationery and this team truly amazed us all. The dresses were designed by Silver Swallow and it worked perfectly underwater. The Make up was done by Maureen and underwater make-up has its own challenges, all jewellery was provided by House of Auri.

Word from the Photographer:

As an underwater photographer, I have come to realize that the idea and planning surrounding such a shoot will essentially only act as the starting block for a concept. The water, the light and the movements will eventually decide the outcome of the shoot. It evolves and grows on its own and I have to say that my greatest pleasure is going along for the ride.

A behind the scenes video of the shoot:

With "Letters to my Love", we were initially hoping for a classic and elegant 1910's inspired look. The underwater imagery was to lend a touch a whimsical fancy to the shoot and while the set took on a life of its own, we just loved how everything came together perfectly. As expected, fantasy and magic simply took over and it guided my editing to a more dreamlike and painterly feel. "Letters to my Love" was born as one of the first ever fully styled underwater wedding shoots and the concept evolved to a romantic reflection of an idealistic, but distant love. From drowning the beautifully set table, which was adjourned with fairytale creatures and vibrant flower arrangements (and also secured to the pool floor with rope and heavy weights), to playing with the beautifully designed letters and stationary underwater was so much fun. The dresses and cake displayed beautifully underwater and the models were amazing in taking on the role of "dreaming water nymphs". Working with an energetic and equally excited team made every bit of difference in creating this ethereal and beautiful shoot and I would like to thank everyone for their incredibly hard work in making this a success!

A Big thank you to our models, Elsa Bleda and Courtneigh Sinead Jacbobs aswell as Nicole Lloyd-Lister and Graeme Cook for their assistance.
