Heather and Chris's wedding was a sophisticated affair with a few twists and turns. Although the couple had planned to wed on the beach, rain on their big day wouldn't permit this. "I honestly do not think the rain could have been any heavier that day," says Heather. "Instead, we had the ceremony inside Brock House restaurant under a glass ceiling, which was actually very beautiful, and very Vancouver, with the sound and sight of the rain hitting the glass above us and trickling down the windows." The bride says this impromptu change of plans actually ended up being one of her favourite wedding moments.

The couple decided on a vintage-chic theme for their reception. Heather explains that this theme was inspired by her wedding gown. "I fell in love with the dress and then planned everything else around that," she says. "I love soft and understated style."

After the early afternoon reception, the rain finally let up and the glow from the setting sun created the perfect backdrop as the celebrations came to a close. "It was so lovely of Vancouver to show its two sides to our many out-of-town guests: heavy rain followed by a reprieve of sunshine," says Heather. "This change in weather allowed us to take advantage of our stunning location and the wedding party snuck away for a short time to get some gorgeous photos on Jericho Beach."
