Coco's Top 5 Modern Vintage Wedding Venues

Written by: louise

Happy Thursday readers! I can't quite believe it's already been a month since our resident wedding venues expert Emma joined us to share Coco Wedding Venues Top 5 Boho faves, August really has passed in a blur. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of love for this month's Top 5, as Emma shares venues with a Modern Vintage twist, so many pretty venues! Over to Emma...

This list could easily have been double, if not triple in length! So it was quite a tough job to select just 5 Modern Vintage venues from the growing Coco Wedding Venues Collection ...

Venue #1 Coombe Trenchard

But select I did and so I present my Top 5 Modern Vintage delights just for your viewing pleasure. We are dipping our toe in the quirky, the eclectic, indulging in the 'beautiful era' of the Belle Époque and taking in some Art Deco city charm... Come on, let's go and explore!

Coombe Trenchard is a beautiful Edwardian Country House set within 116 acres of beautiful gardens, woodland and parkland, with views towards Dartmoor. A Modern Vintage treasure, both house and gardens are redolent of the high Arts & Crafts style of the belle époque.

Sarah, the owner, has selected specialist producers from around Devon, to aid you in choosing the best possible food and drink for your special day. With a Wedding Coordinator to assist with your planning and beautiful accommodation for your Bridal party, this venues offers everything you could possibly want under one beautiful roof...

Venue #2 Elmore Court

For those organized couples still looking to marry in 2014 then hurry because there's a lovely offer if you mention COCO! Just visit their listings page for more details.

Elmore Court is the 750-year-old Grade II* listed home of the Guise family nestled in a beautiful rural village between the Cotswolds and Bristol. This ancient historical home with views of the River Severn has been renovated into a self-sustainable state-of-the-art Wedding Venue including a biomass heating system and naturally built super marquee, the 'Gillyflower'.

Venue #3 Grays Court York

Elmore was built as a functional homestead for family use and the entertaining of guests. Everybody who has come to stay in the house has felt the unique warmth and energy of the building. Many have commented on there being a certain magic about the place when it is being used for bringing people together.

Tucked away down a small cobbled street and nestled in the heart of the exclusive Minster Quarter li es Grays Court... Almos t a thousand years old, the house has been lovingly restored by the Heraty family, and opened to the public in 2009 after four years of restorative work...

Venue #4 The Bell in Ticehurst

Grays Court is the only venue in the city of York with an outdoor wedding license. You can choose to be wed in their beautiful walled gardens, or in the silk-wallpapered Sterne Room with views over the cobbled courtyard, or perhaps in the Jacobean oak-panelled Long Gallery.

The Bell in Ticehurst is a gorgeous sixteenth century coaching inn set in the beautiful East Sussex countryside. Wedding guests will delight in the quirkiness of this historic pub - it is a treasure trove of goodies and basically just very, very cool.

Venue #5 Stoke Newington Town Hall

The Bell's design is eclectic in the truest sense of the word, looking as if an eccentric nobleman has travelled the world and stuffed his house full of curiosities from his travels. Old typewriters, ancient novels and safari chairs, 30's-style suitcase and mismatched chandeliers; the result is quirky and utterly charming - Alice in Wonderland would feel right at home!

Stoke Newington Town Hall offers decedent 1930s glamour with its outstanding Art-Deco interiors. Dark mahoganies, elegant marble and one of Europe's largest working mirror balls make this venue one of the most desirable event spaces for ceremonies, receptions and parties in the whole of London.

One of two main spaces, the Council Chamber is the natural setting for a range of ceremonies and includes many elegant features such as the curved mahogany speaker's table and original walnut panelling. Seating 83 across the main floor and balcony, its unique charm makes it one of the most spectacular vintage wedding venues in London.

So, which takes you fancy...?

Obviously I love them all and each one has their own story and their own character. Pop over to Coco Wedding Venues to explore this style category in more detail... You'll then realise why this was such a tough task!
