Glamorous Gold Surprise Proposal

Glamorous Gold Surprise Proposal

This shoot is much more than meets the eye! The main inspiration was based upon the stunning rose-gold oval ring Phan held in his pocket. Not only is the glamour and decor just perfect, there is a serious surprise in store at the end. Phan sought out advice from Karmin of Agape Moments Photography and Janea of Rosetree Events who planned the picture perfect romantic proposal to a tee through a pretend "styled shoot".

You'll be swept off your feet when you see all of the darling details from this glamorous gold surprise proposal in the full gallery here, and don't forget to read the way cute proposal story!

The grooms side of the story

The plan was to make Jenny look and feel glamorous and to completely catch her off guard. Jenny thought she was being enlisted to do make-up for a styled shoot planned by Rosetree Events, but little did she know that the "models" backed out at the last minute and she was asked to step into the crystal Betsy Johnson shoes. Once the shots needed for the style shoot were accomplished, Jenny was asked to change into a different dress with a hair change in which she was told was a "going away" look. Whilst she was changing looks preparation began for the big ending! Family and friends filed onto the rooftop creating an aisle, whilst holding candles narrowing in on Phan at the end of the aisle. As Jenny walked through the rooftop doors a live cover of Sara Bareilles' I Choose You began playing. Jenny wrapped around the corner with teared filled eyes as she saw family and friend whom gathered not only from the Twin Cities, but from states across the country. There wasn't a dry eye as tears fell and sprinkles dropped from the heavens as Phan's trembling hands met Jenny's. He got down on one knee and asked Jenny to be his wife!

The brides side of the story

When Karmin had asked me to be the model for the shoot after her supposed model backed out, I have to admit I was a little nervous. When Karmin had suggested Phan to play the groom in the shoot I was a little surprised he agreed to it but relieved that it wasn't a stranger I would be photographed with. I wasn't expecting the proposal at all because we had talked about getting married but not for a while. When I came out after my wardrobe and hair change I was stunned to see all of my closest family and friends lined up forming an aisle with Phan at the end. When I saw Phan I was thinking, "OMG is he going to propose? He has to be..." and immediately my eyes began to water. As I walked closer to everyone and started actually seeing faces it made me even more emotional realizing who was all there. A couple of our close family and friends from Louisiana had flown up for this special occasion. I couldn't believe they were all here. When I finally made it down to Phan I buried my face in him trying to wipe away my tears. Phan said some sweet words to me and down on one knee, asked me to marry him. I could only nod as I was filled with happiness knowing that this was it. We're going to get married after 9 years of dating. It was the best feeling ever and so special to me that my family and friends were there to be apart of it. It felt like I was in a movie. That's how the best day of my life happened.
