Etsy Find of the Week: The Retro Bridesmaid Dres

For some reason we've been spending even more time than usual on Etsy this week. Swooning over wedding dresses, engagement rings, pretty stationery, and quirky wedding decorations.

And we know how long it takes to find the very best buys, so, we've collated our very favourite items on our Bridal Musings Etsy Page.

One such find we clapped eyes on this week, and simply HAD to share with you guys, is these gorgeous retro bridesmaid dresses by Soho Mode

The Dresses

These whimsical patterned tea dresses are available in mix and match colours, with several styles and finishes to choose from.

And Soho Mode, who first debuted these dresses on Etsy in 2009, have made literally thousands of bridesmaids happy with these fun, unique dresses.

Not only pretty, versatile and likely to be worn again by your girls, these dresses also look great on everyone, amping up curves, and creating a feminine shape on more athletic figures.

And while Soho Mode might sell a lot of these beauties, each one is utterly original, sourced from a unique collection of vintage fabrics.

These fab dresses would be perfect for not just an offbeat or retro wedding, but any garden, countryside or tea party bash.

The Seller

Soho Mode is owned by Louise Rose, an English-born, New York-based self-taught dressmaker.

She honed her skills wandering around the Chelsea vintage flea market, when she fell in love with retro household fabrics.

She now creates her dresses with two assistants, from her - rather lovely - studio in Soho, New York.

The Details

To choose your tea dress bridesmaid dresses, grab your girls (and some tea/bubbly) and first check out Soho Mode's swatches. There are SO MANY pretty fabrics to choose from.

Next up, you need to choose the style of your tea dresses. There are four variations, and together they look great as mix-and-match dresses.

Traditional - with piping detail and capped sleeves
Modern - no piping , non-capped sleeves
Scoop - low scoop neckline front and back
Alice - open neckline with capped sleeves, no piping

Next all you have to do is take your measurements and include all the information when you make your order on Etsy.

The Small Print

Louise suggests each bridesmaid chooses a few fabrics, so she can work out the best combination so the group look great altogether in the pictures. You can also request flower girl dresses or bow ties to match your maids.

All Made To Order dresses cost $150/£94. The dresses take about 3-4 weeks to make, so if you want them shipped internationally, do order early!

Oh and don't forget to measure snuggly, the details for how and where to measure are on the listing.

Aren't they gorgeous!
