All eyes are on you on your wedding day, so why not look & feel your best with a healthy tan? Here are some expert tips on how to achieve a flawless spray tan that lasts...

-Plan ahead. It's a good idea to schedule a trial session at least 3 weeks prior to your wedding day tanning session. The trial session is a good time to establish the perfect shade to match your skin type and address any areas of concern such as Eczema, Psoriasis or Vitiligo. Spray tanning does not treat these conditions but can be used on clients without a problem and can be an effective way of evening out skin tone for these clients.

-Exfoliate. Use one with sea salt and a loofah. This will remove any dead or dull skin in preparation for a fresh and even spray tan.

-Shaving. Shave one day before your tan or any time after your first shower. Do not shave the same day as your tan! The pores of your skin absorb the solution and can cause a "freckling" effect that lasts the entire length of your tan.

-Skin barriers. Anything covering your skin can result in an uneven absorption of the tanning solution. Make sure your face and body are free of any makeup, moisturizers, and perfumes the day of your spray tanning session. The hydrating properties in moisturizers act as a barrier and prevent your spray tan from reaching its intended color. Additionally, your tan will fade more quickly.

-Loose fitting clothes. After your spray tan is applied it's a good idea to wear loose fitting clothes, this helps eliminate uneven lines caused by fabric rubbing on the skin. Stickiness is common but should go away in 45 minutes or less. -Showering. After your spray tan is applied allow a minimum of 8-10 hours before showering, washing hands or sweating to allow time for your tan to develop. Use a mild or moisturizing body wash. The harsher the soap the more quickly your tan will fade.

-Moisturize. Sunless tanning solutions can dry skin out, so even if you are not used to a daily moisturizer now is the time to embrace it. -Drink Water. Water can help hydrate your skin from the inside out. It's the easiest and cheapest way to get beautiful skin. The more hydrated your skin is, the longer your tan will last.

-Protect your skin from the sun. Despite the increasingly well-known dangers of sun exposure, many of us, on occasion, get lazy when it comes to protecting our skin or just can't give up the habit of "laying out" to get that sunkissed look that makes you feel so good. We are all aware that sun can do much more damage than simply give you painful sunburn. Prolonged exposure to sunlight causes brown spots, scaly spots, drying and wrinkling, and, worst of all, skin cancer. Sunless tanning is now the solution! Get a gorgeous tan without the risk.
