Location they say is everything. When you see the setting for this London city wedding it will blow you away.

Georgina and Simon tied the knot on the 21 June 2014 at Trinity Buoy Wharf in a warehouse beside the river Thames overlooking the O2 and Canary Wharf... WOW.

They envisioned a party atmosphere full of laughs and had a super chic yellow and grey colour scheme. I love all of the fantastic details, from stylish stationery, pretty modern blooms and hanging lanterns.

Georgina donned a flirty fun LouLou Bridal dress with Jimmy Choo heels, Simon wore Paul Smith and the bridesmaids looked gorgeous in Grey frocks. This is how to do city chic.

THE PROPOSAL | On 30 March 2012 in Santa Barbara at 7pm on the beach at sunset. George had taken a sabbatical from work - she had been in St Lucia for a week with her parents first (where her dad didn't let on to her or her step mum that Simon had asked for her hand in marriage ) - and had then flown to meet Simon in San Francisco. We had driven from San Fran, down the Big Sur coastline along highway 1 to Santa Barbara. After Santa Barbara we continued to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Yosemite and then back to San Fran. Simon then flew home to go back to work after three weeks and George continued her travels, meeting her friend Janine, one of the bridesmaids, in New Orleans where we both travelled up to Chicago. Amazing!

THE VISION | For everyone to have fun and party! We didn't want too much of a formal vibe, more of a party atmosphere with everyone laughing and joking all day.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | It took a long time! But it was definitely worth it :) We didn't believe it when people said how difficult it was to plan a wedding. We found it very stressful at times!

We created and uploaded all documents to Google Drive, so we could both access and edit them. We also allowed others to see certain documents (e.g. sharing table plan with all our parents). This was hugely helpful and a real time saver! Created a list of tasks with due dates and owners to ensure everything was done. Allocated jobs to all groomsmen, parents and bridesmaids so that everyone knew what was happening and when. Held a briefing the night before the wedding for the groomsmen/bridesmaids so people knew what was going to happen at key points throughout the day.

THE VENUE | Trinity Buoy Wharf, The Chainstore. Situated along the river Thames in London - fabulous backdrop - you can see the O2 (Millennium dome) across the river and Canary Wharf. The Chainstore is a big warehouse that used to be used to store and manufacture buoys and chains. It also has a lighthouse attached to it. The lighthouse used to be a training lighthouse, to train the keepers. It now houses a music installation called Longplayer. The Chainstore is on a site with lots of interesting buildings around it. The current location of Longplayer is where Faraday had his workshop.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Necklace - Simon's dad's partner, Theresa, gave me a vintage necklace to wear for the day. It fitted the outfit perfectly and it was a lovely gift.

Dress - lovely dress from LouLou bridal. I had the dress adjusted so that it was shorter and had a v neck back. I actually had the top of one dress and the bottom half of another dress - so very unique. My dressmaker Sarah was great at making the alterations and suggesting changes I might want with the dress. Dress was found at The Ivory Boutique.

Shoes - beautiful Jimmy Choo silver glitter and gold heels - I wanted a pair of shoes that sparkled and complimented the outfit - I knew they would be on show and I can wear them again.

FINDING THE DRESS | I had a clear idea of what I wanted so finding the right dress for me was easier than I expected. Despite finding the dress I wanted at the first place I went to, I still had a go at going to a more traditional shop - I had to try on a meringue dress just for fun!!

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Reading by Maxim Hind - Excerpt from "So long and thanks for all the fish"by Douglas Adams from Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy trilogy. (Simon's favourite book is The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.) Reading by Gemma Seltzer (George's university friend) - Lyrics by Guy Garvey from the song "Mirrorball"by Elbow. (A beautiful song, beautifully read). Reading by Kristin Dasgupta (George's university friend) - Apache wedding blessing (appropriate to end the ceremony on a high and happy note).

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Jenna Treen - George's school friend. Now lives in Nigeria. The most disorganised, random and sometimes frustrating person I know but I love her dearly. She has my back! Alex Panizzi - George's school friend. Now lives in Leeds. Very reliable and a rock to me - she can solve all my problems and she is great fun to be with. Janine Carter - George and Janine met online. They were both looking for someone to go travelling with and found each other on a website. This was before internet dating was popular so it was a pretty brave thing to do. Since meeting they have been travelling around the world (LA, NZ, Australia, Thailand, Laos and Japan) and the US trip (mentioned above - New Orleans, Jackson, Memphis, St Louis, Des Moines and Chicago). Janine is very thoughtful and creative, dependable and caring. Vanessa Redmond - George's school friend. Now lives in Nairobi (had to get her dress taken out to Nairobi and altered and then get it sent back. It got held up in customs for a bit which was nerve racking!!). Nes is such fun - we have had many good times together and I miss her being around for chats and drinkies. She is also the intelligent one. We all compliment each other perfectly and they all looked stunning on the day.

Bridesmaids dresses from Kelsey Rose. Their shoes were from The Rainbow Club in John Lewis - I had them dyed yellow.

THE FLOWERS | Beautiful contemporary and stunning flowers created by The Fresh Flower Company. A florist just around the corner from where we live in East Dulwich, London. Fran did an excellent job of creating the flowers we wanted. George put a pinterest board together with ideas as we had a strong idea of what we wanted and Fran worked from that.

THE CAKE | A cake made of cheeses from Paxton and Whitfield. Yum! We got a topper made which consisted of us and our cat, Grant. We had to have him at the wedding in some form! We didn't want each other to see or know about each other's outfits so we had to get our parents to look and check the topper beforehand so the first time we saw it was on the big day.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Kristian Leven - George went to uni with Kris. What a great guy. It was fabulous to have him photograph our wedding as he captured the spirit of it.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Lanterns and paper chains we sourced from the hanging lantern company and amazon. The bridesmaids and George put the paper chains and lanterns together on the day before the wedding and the lads were in charge of hanging.

Colours of yellow and grey ran throughout the décor and stationery.

We had an amazing lady called Gemma who customised all our stationery for us which really added the personal touch to our wedding.

THE HONEYMOON | Drove around Iceland for 2 weeks! Holiday by All Iceland. Absolutely stunning scenery - did a glacier walk, went whale and puffin watching.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The ceremony - we were both very excited to be getting married to each other!

Bagpiper - John Lauder (George's cousin) - piped during our canapés and drinks after the ceremony. George has some Scottish relatives.

The first dance - we had four lessons with the amazing Wilmot at Push Studios in East Dulwich. He took us from a flouncing and uncoordinated couple to super stars. We danced to Lovesong by The Cure. The album Disintegration, where this song is from, is one that we used to listen to together when we first met so it has a special place in our hearts and it was wonderful to do an upbeat dance that surprised everyone. It got lots of cheers and whoops so we think it was a hit!

Viva gli sposi - on the back of every place card (designed by Gemma) we told guests of the Italian tradition to raise a toast to the happy couple (George's step family are italian). This started a toasting chain over the wedding breakfast meal - it was good fun as each table tried to be the loudest!

Food & Drink - Helen from the Hand Made Food Company was absolutely fantastic - not only was the food excellent, but she helped us so much with organising the day and nothing was too much of an issue. What a super star!

Band - they were expensive, but well worth it, the dance floor was full the whole time and they were so professional.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Plan everything to the minutest detail so that there are no nasty surprises on the day and so you can enjoy it completely! We had a load of documents that we created and stored on Google Drive, which worked brilliantly.

Delegate, delegate, delegate - you can't do everything, so give others clear instructions and leave them to do things for you.

The bride and groom should make sure they have a few moments throughout the day where they are alone for a few minutes - to catch up, reflect and enjoy each other's company.

Relax and enjoy it - if something doesn't go to plan, laugh it off! Also see delegation, above ;)

Get a Photo Booth - hilarious pictures and everyone loved it on the night!
