Bright & Light Peachy Fresh Modern Wedding

Bright & Light Peachy Fresh Modern Wedding

via

A fresh, bright and modern wedding set in a cobbled street characterful town. Perfect.

Stacy and Leyton were married on the 28th June 2014 at The George in Rye. They hoped for a light, elegant and girlie wedding, which turned out to be a really rather fabulous celebration.

There were beautiful blooms of Hydrangeas and Peonies, love letter lights and vibrant bridesmaid dresses. I so love the ombre wedding cake and there was even a town crier announcing their marriage in the town!

Stacy wore a romantic Pronovias gown with sparkle Kate Spade heels and Leyton donned a House of Fraser blue jacket, dark trousers and stylish brogues. LOVE.

Thanks so much to Anna Pumer for sharing her wonderful imagery with us this morning.

THE PROPOSAL | Leyton and I have been together for 7 years. It was Christmas day 2012 our first actual Christmas together and alone we just moved into our apartment in west London. My family are all over the world I have a sister in Canada my mother in NZ. I normally fly at Christmas, so this was a really big deal to be alone and together at Christmas. On the day Leyton was acting a little odd... nervous in fact he asked me to sit down and don't say anything (I'm massively chatty) then he got on one knee... and told me he couldn't imagine his life without me... I cried said YES and spent most of the day on Skype...

THE VISION | We had a summer wedding... so I wanted bright, light, elegant and girlie. We have been fortunate to have attended some amazing weddings and the ones we enjoyed the most are the ones with the personal touch where you had a real sense of the bride and groom... so we knew what was important to us. We wanted our guests to know that we had thought about them. The rest didn't come together until we found our venue.

BUDGET | Our budget was 15-20k we went a little over.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We made a list of what needed to be done in what time frame with the help of my wonderful girl friends who had previously been married - Adi and Emma. Also we had an essential list of things we need and things we like but may not afford!!

THE VENUE | We fell in LOVE with the George in Rye, you see I really hadn't had a clue where to start... I looked at barns, city pubs I was desperate to be wowed... and I was struggling to find it. Also I felt a lot of pressure to book well in advance.

Then was reading a blog I came across the George we booked an appointment and went to see it one weekend.. we massively enjoyed the drive down to Sussex and Rye town oozes quaint British charm at its best - its cobbled streets and antique shops didn't disappoint - the town is steeped in history and grace. Once inside the George it's beautiful and the ball room is incredible. When people say you know when you found the place they are not wrong.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Alcanar by Pronovias bought from Bridal Rogue Gallery London, finding the dress was lots of fun I always thought I would go for a short 50s dress but once I had this dress on I really didn't want to take it off. Shoes - Kate spade (my something blue).

GROOM'S ATTIRE | My handsome groom wore all from House of Fraser.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Our readings were - Weddings by anonymous, Maybe by anonymous.

Music - My groom plays in a wedding band called Empire Sound they were simply fantastic and had everyone up dancing and unknown to me even learnt some of our special songs and his own too.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Adeline my friend since we were 18, my constant source of information and inspiration and sheer thoughtfulness. Asking Adi was a no brainier she is rather beautiful inside and out. My talented sister Dawn who flew over from Canada she never said no who kept me sane and calm who I simply adore and my two beautiful nieces Caroline and Katherine who were a joy to have on the day. And my girlfriends Rachel, Jess( mega delish) and lovely Emma who's incredible support I would have been lost with out.

THE FLOWERS | We chose summer flowers I love Peonies and Hydrangeas, I wanted a real country fresh feel on the day.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | We simply fell on our feet with Anna our photographer, I happened to come across her on a friend's Facebook page and then on a blog the same day! It had to be fate. She has a really laid back style with a fun creative edge. And meeting her was a bit like meeting an old friend - she puts you at ease instantly. Throughout the day you really wouldn't know she's there - in a good way!

THE CAKE | Oh our cake.. I really searched for this cake I really wanted an ombré cake with butter cream icing it was more than what I asked for it was beautiful.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | The ball room in the George is stunning and didn't need much how ever in order to make it personal we added pictures on the mantles, we made our own prop box and photo line, the books were all old classic penguin books, badges as name placements - we really found it was the little things that made all the difference. We invented our own cocktails had a harpist and a candy floss maker.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Our advice for other couples would be... book your service early in the day as the day goes so fast work it out for as long as you can and remember no one knows if things are not on time or if things haven't worked out to plan except you and your groom so take a deep breath and enjoy.
