Sweet Beach Engagement Shoot in Dubai

Sweet Beach Engagement Shoot in Dubai

via

In case you didn't know, Elizabeth recently packed away her suitcase, and has taken time out from her adventures around the world to live in Dubai.

So when Tiffany and Chris' beautiful engagement shoot by Rebecca Rees at A Thing Like That popped into our inbox, featuring their day by the beach in Dubai, we just knew we had to share it.

Not only are this couple sweet and stylish, but their shoot offers a more relaxed and romantic look at a place normally associated with luxe sky-scrapers and opulent shopping malls.

Capturing candid moments, a casual stroll and a stunning sunset, this engagement session is laid back and pretty - we love shoots that feel like you're simply catching a glimpse of a couple's every life!

We'll pass you over to Rebecca to tell us a little bit more about her sunny day photo session with Tiffany and Chris.

I was really excited to meet Tiffany and Chris. I'd been chatting with Tiffany over emails during the summer before our shoot and found out that Chris is a DJ who writes for a music magazine and Tiffany is a talented cake decorator who represented the Cayman Islands darts team at the Bahamas Darts Championship in 2010. I instantly knew I was going to meet a really cool, laid back and creative couple! One of the best things about Dubai is the guaranteed sunshine, so we planned a casual Saturday afternoon of alfresco coffee drinking, followed by a sunset walk on the beach. I'm always keen for my shoots to be unobtrusive and look as natural as possible, so rather than than telling them how to pose, I just stood back, let them be and photographed what I saw.

Tiffany tells us a little bit more how her and Chris' love story...

On meeting Chris: We met through mutual friends at a Dubai bar called 360. We chatted a bit on the night and then the next day he sacked the day off work to spend it with me.

On Chris' Proposal:On Christmas morning I started tearing through my stocking and at the very bottom of my stocking was a ring box. He proposed, and I said yes. The final present was a wedding planner notebook! On their Wedding: I used to live in the Cayman Islands and took Chris there to visit and the Ajman Kempinski feels very Caribbean. We are immediately relaxed when we visit. Our wedding is booked for Friday, 17 October at 3pm at the Ajman Kempinski. We have had many staycations there together and with friends and both decided on the venue within minutes. He surprised and confused me! We had talked about getting married but he had a really thin book-shaped parcel waiting for me for Christmas that said "TO BE OPENED LAST". Isn't it sweet? So simple, but such lovely images for a couple to have forever. I bet lots of grooms are going to steal Chris' wedding planner proposal this Christmas!

And what a great way for us to catch a look at Elizabeth's new hometown!

Thanks so much to Rebecca Rees at A Thing Like That and of course, the gorgeous Tiffany and Chris for sharing their engagement session and proposal story with us. And a massive congratulations on your wedding last week!
