DIY The Grey Smokey Eye.

DIY The Grey Smokey Eye.

We're back with another in our series of wonderful DIY beauty and hair tutorials that you can recreate easily peasily at home, this afternoon. This week it's the turn of the highly coveted smokey eye which is most definitely my favourite beauty look (swiftly followed by the hot red lip of course!)

I'm not sure about you but there's something about a dark set of smouldering eyes that's so damn sexy. Granted most of you won't want such a dramatic look for your wedding day itself but it's worth thinking about if you want to change up your look for your evening festivities or vamp it up for Halloween this weekend...

We've decided to show you how to recreate the look with a grey rather than black palette; it's a little bit softer and flatters all skin types and tones.

1 & 2. Apply the Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow in Tenacious over the lid with a flat eyeshadow brush up until the natural crease of the eye.
3. Also apply the product along the bottom lash line.
4 & 5. Using Shu Uemura's eyeshadow in colour 471, buff over the cream eyeshadow with a small fluffy eyeshadow brush.
6. Use a clean dome shaped fluffy brush to blend out and soften the edges.
7. Rim the the upper lash line and inner eye with black eye pencil of your choosing and blend lightly into the eyeshadow.
8. Add lashings of mascara.

Do you favour a grey smokey eye? Or are you a fan of a golden brown combination? I love both but for different occasions.

Also what are your favourite eyeshadow palettes at the moment? I can't get enough of Charlotte Tilbury's Rock Chick palette but would love to hear about your other must-have products!

All my love Lolly xxx
