Colourful & Fun Cornwall Seaside Fete Wedding

Colourful & Fun Cornwall Seaside Fete Wedding

via

Richard and Erin tied the knot on the 28th June 2014 at Carbisa Bay Hotel in Cornwall. They took inspiration from the seaside setting for their wedding, creating the sweetest décor. With a fete feel they had a bake off style cake table and an abundance of sunflowers too.

I just adore the fun pinwheels, stylish attire and those beachy portraits. Gorgeous.

Thanks goes to the brilliant Paul Underhill for providing the imagery today.

THE PROPOSAL | Was at Tregenna Castle in St Ives on 19th August 2012, overlooking the bay and town of St Ives, total surprise, been holidaying in St Ives since I was young and it is my favourite place, we were away for our 3 year anniversary ( 21st August) however Rich was so excited that he could not wait so did it 2 days early.

THE VISION | Sea side fete, I wanted the cake table to look like a cake stand at some sort of county show ( or the British bake off!) and everything to be nice a colourful, no set colour theme, a lovely day at the seaside and a little vintage too!

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Had ages to plan as my little sister got engaged in the February and married September 2013 so we wanted to let her go first then do ours the following year so that we did not steal the lime light. Literally shopped non stop for pretty much 18 months gathering all the bits and peace's for the big day, cake stands, lots of items of jewellery, cameras, jars, buckets, never ending. Also great because meant a few trip to Cornwall to see band and florist etc. and lots of time for all of my homemade items.

THE VENUE | Carbisa Bay Hotel, St Ives.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Loved SO Sassi however ended up with Justin Alexander. Accessories I could open a shop think I brought 4 pairs of earring, 2 necklaces, 3 head bands (dresses) 2 bracelets and 100's of hair accessories. Ended up with fresh flowers in my hair (fabulous) a bracelet from my friends that they brought for my birthday and some pretty drop earrings, simple!.

FINDING THE DRESS | Travelled far and wide hunting down specific dresses and collections, Oxford, London, Bath, Winchester, Bournemouth, dress eventually purchased from Essex. Tried on as a curve ball and fell in love with it! Just tried it on for fun at the end of a long shopping spree not what I was planning, really pleased that hopefully will not see another bride (at least not one I know in the same dress).

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Ted Baker Peacock collection from Moss Bross.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had AJ from Keiko Rise sing Power of Love to walk down the aisle to. Gathering Music was; Love Love Love by Monster of men, You're my star by stereophonics, Awake my Soul by Mumford & Sons, Diane Young by Vampire Weekend, Promise by Ben Howard.

Signing Registrar was, Only Love by Ben Howard, How Long will I love you by Ellie Goulding, I will wait by Mumford & Sons

Exit Music was, I need your love by Clavin harris feat ellie goulding. First dance was, Home by Gabrielle Aplin. All music was by band that we have seen live together.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Helen my best friend, she loves presents so when I asked her to be my bridesmaid I sent a "gift" to her flat a box with the dress and shoes in it with a card requesting her to be my bridesmaid, she was totally amazing and looked stunning!.

THE FLOWERS | Wild flowers, Sunflowers, Daisy's, and thistles, also has some vintage broaches added to my bouquet to give it a bit of sparkle. Wanted them to look like they had been freshly picked and just bundled together, icing on the cake was the floral archway of sunflowers at the top of the aisle.

THE CAKE | 3 x cakes on a variety of stands, a tower of lemon cup cakes, baileys chocolate cake and a traditional Victoria sponge, with pretty shells and sand on them, was originally going to buy from M&S but discovered these and they were definitely the best choice.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The one and only Paul Underhill! Really made our day, fantastic photos and travelled from Bournemouth too!

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Simple, windmill place settings (homemade) so they decorated the table along with rock as favours, homemade bunting on the cake table and top table and a few little wooden beach huts scattered on the cake table just to keep with the theme, other than that the main decoration was all of the flowers as the displays were lovely and big so kept it simple and did not really need anything else.

THE HONEYMOON | Vegas, Maui, Honolulu , New York amazing!

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Everything! Fabulous weather after driving down in a big fat rain cloud bad forecast and weather leading up to the big day. Amazing friends & family creating an awesome atmosphere, and just so much love! Also seeing turtles in Hawaii.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy it!
