We've got such a lovely bump shoot to share with you today. With just weeks to go before the arrival of baby Dakota, mum-to-be Rachel sought sanctuary in her newly decorated nursery to capture some sweet moments with photographer Renata Fry. Totally adore all the personalised little details awaiting this baby girl.

Rachel's story -

I decided to have a maternity photo shoot because I wanted a visual record of my pregnancy, particularly as I was getting near to my due date and knew that I would not have a 'bump' for much longer! Being pregnant is such a special time and I wanted to be able to remember how I felt at that point in my life, with my daughter's birth so close (not to mention be able to share the images with her when she is a bit older!) I asked Renata to take the photographs because she has a very distinctive style, combining a beautiful vintage feel with clean, sharp lines and finishes. I also knew that she would have creative ideas about the nature of the photographs and images, as I definitely needed some direction - not having firm ideas myself. I was not disappointed, as Renata took some wonderful, creative photographs. These are photographs that I will treasure always - a permanent record of the beginning of my journey as a mother.

To me, being a mother means more than merely being responsible for another human life, as momentous as that is in itself. Every time I look at my daughter's little face, I am reminded of the fact that she truly is a culmination of the love that my husband and I feel for each other. She also embodies the immeasurable bond of our families, which are further tied together through the mutual love we all have for her. Really, being a mother is all about love - it strengthens the love that you already have for the important people in your life, and enlightens you as to the huge, indescribable love you can have for this little person who totally belongs to you - it really is a love of a type you have never felt before.
