Products for Perfectly Air-Dried Hair

In a perfect world, our mornings would consist of taking a quick, invigorating shower, quickly towel-drying our hair and running out the door, allowing Mother Nature to effortlessly air-dry our locks. Unfortunately, such a miracle is not one that is common among mere mortals. Is all hope lost in our battle for natural, easy hair? Should we throw in the towel and give in to a life of blow dryers and heating tools? No! We compiled a beauty battalion of products that can help you win the war for air-dried hair! Charge!

Sea Salt Spray
Want those carefree, easy beach waves typical of the California surfer girl? The look can be yours with just a few sprays of a magical little potion we like to call sea salt spray. Products like L'Oréal Paris EverStyle Texture Series Beach Spray give hair that lovely tousled, bedhead look, sans curling iron. All you need to do is spritz your towel-dried hair with the spray and gently twist and scrunch the hair. If your hair isn't the kind that curls naturally, you can also braid it after spraying your locks with the sea salt solution and unravel it once it dries.

Dry Shampoo
This may seem like a random product to apply to just-washed hair, but dry shampoo actually serves other purposes besides freshening up hair. When applied to damp (not wet) hair, products like Pureology Fresh Approach Dry Shampoo can have a thickening effect, lending hair natural body and texture once it dries.

Root Lifter/Volumizing Spray
If your hair is known to get limp and lifeless, root-lifting products like L'Oréal Professionel Volumetry Anti-Gravity Volumizing Root Lift Spray is the way to go. In addition to preventing yucky oil buildup, this volumizer increases the density in your hair strands and give them - that's right - lift. Application is super-simple: Spray the solution onto towel-dried hair, paying special attention to your roots. Comb your hair and style as usual.

Hair Texturizer
For an effortless, piecey, just-got-out-of-bed-look, try a texturizing paste or cream like Garnier De-Constructed Pixie Play. It clings to your hair all day, giving it touchable control, sans the stiff or crunchy feel.

Gel
The tried-and-true weapon against humidity and frizz is still going strong. Gel products like Matrix Rock N' Hold Hard Hold Gel, when applied correctly, have unbeatable control over stray hairs. However, with the wrong approach, this jelly-like solution can have catastrophic results: crispy, crunchy hair, flaking, etc. Make sure to apply a dime-sized amount of gel to damp, nearly dried hair. Gently scrunch and twist the hair. If you want a sleeker 'do, pull the hair back into a ponytail or slick chignon.
