Style Files: Solange Knowles Best

Style Files: Solange Knowles Best

via

I. Can't. Even.

Seriously though, I don't even know where to start with this style file.

Solange, girl, you NAILED IT. (Yeah, we're on first name terms, and what!?)

All white errthang (bridal party, guests, bikes... Literally everything!), more outfit changes than the cast of a Westend musical, striking gold accents and pretty much just bustin' wedding tradition in favour of something alternative. Needless to say, we LOVED IT.

Just incase your eyes are yet to see the beauty of this wedding, prepare yourself for sheer class...

So, capes are clearly a seriously good move for brides right now, hey?!

Almost all of Solange's outfits featured either a cape of a flared sleeve. From the floor length caped Humberto Leon for Kenzo dress she wore to the ceremony (ja-freakin'-dore!) to her asymmetric Stéphane Rolland Fall 2012 Couture jumpsuit for the pre-wedding festivities...

Man I wish I'd hit up a cape or a jumpsuit for my wedding...

That's excuse enough to renew your vows, right?!

Of course, we haven't even touched on the stylish guests (definitely not to be overlooked!)...

Statement gold pedicures, bright crimson lips, a floor length feathered skirt (Oh hey, Jenna Lyons, you're my new style icon!) and a faux fur slung over one's shoulders (the only way to don your jacket this season).

The details were everything and Solange was delivering some major inspiration on that front too...

The gypsophilia, the wide gold cuffs, THAT RING... OH, the ring!

So, how do you get yourself some of this serious style? Well, we've pulled some of our favourite pieces together for you while chanting our new style mantra on repeat...

'Solange Knowles Best. Solange Knowles Best.'

First up, THAT RING.

Who else would we look to?! Artemer always delivers the goods. (Yes, y'all know I'm biased, but you can't deny it!)

This ring is totally next on my wishlist...

Or, if you fancy a diamond alternative, maybe something rough cut, take a look at the work of Point No Point Studio on Etsy.

This rose gold cuff ring features one natural black rose cut diamond and one white rough diamond.

Gorgeous, hey?

And those simply striking gold cuffs Solange owned? Yah, we got you covered!

I wore a super wide cuff on my wedding day and I have to say never did it cross my mind to wear identical cuffs on each arm (I wore a delicate bangle and stringed bracelet on the opposite wrist), but I am SO in love with this concept; it makes for such a beautifully balanced look!

Bold, simple, statements...

Now, let's talk dresses or jumpsuits, as may be the case!

Loved Solange's ever-changing silhouette, but thinking it's not feasible or maybe a little beyond the constraints of your budget? Well, you're gonna just ADORE the shifting shape of this jumpsuit by Daniela Tabois on Etsy...

We just LOVE how the jumpsuit transforms from ceremony-perfect to evening-reception-chic with the loss of the peplum skirt.

I'm pretty sure your guests:

a) Won't see the jumpsuit thing coming

and

b) Will find the evening transformation equally stunning!

Want something equally gorgoeus, a little more androgynous (major trend, we're hooked!) and featuring a jaw-dropping plunge neckline? (Thanks for encouraging this daring trend again, Solange!)

Russian based Etsy shop, Baby Doll, have seriously killed it with these clean lines...

OK lady, so you've already bought your dress, but have just fallen head-over-heels for the cape trend...

This delicate, sheer cape accessory is totally for you. A slightly more effeminate take on the trend with a boho edge that we're swooning for.

Or how about a reception dress?

An asymmetrical flared sleeve (a subtle nod to the cape) coupled with a simple, chic tulip skirt and curved hem...

Understated drama; our favourite oxymoron right now!

Of course, with a super chic bride, you couldn't have anything other than a crazy stylish flower girl or little maid!

We're going totally CRAY-CRAY over the amazingly sophisticated mini pieces by designer Catteliya.

Clean lines, simple and non-cutesy designs make for one seriously cool little maid!

Clearly, leopard print Docs are the only shoes your flower girl should be donning!

Take a seriously elegant cue from Solange and her beau and own the white-on-white-on-a-little-bit-more-white trend.

I'm gonna put this out there and say this may be one of my favourite celebrity weddings ever...

What do y'all think? Do you feel you could pull off this trend?

Holla at me!

Peace + Love

Clare X
