Outdoor Wedding with Bright Color Palette

Outdoor Wedding with Bright Color Palette

April and Matt learned that planning a wedding is a lot like having a blank canvas. Both the bride and groom are passionate artists, and both had an arsenal of suggestions and tips. Throwing aside idea after idea, they finally decided that themes just weren't for them, so they opted for an anti-theme wedding.

Filled with bright, popping colors, vintage elegance, and whimsical details, their wedding was a seamless event. Delve into more ideas for how to have an anti-theme wedding in the full gallery here, captured by Life & Love Studio.

On Her Dress

From The Bride: My dress was Allure Bridals from their Couture Collection! I wanted a Pnina Tornai!! But they were cost prohibitive in my budget.. so when I found this Allure dress I was floored.. Originally it had a backing on the bodice so that it wasn't see through but I had it removed so that I could emulate Pnina Tornai a bit more!

DIY Dinosaurs and Drinks

My husband and I wanted a light and relaxed feel to our wedding and chose my parent's private estate in Jacksonville, Florida as both the ceremony and reception location. Nestled among mossy oaks spreading across twenty-five acres, our wedding was under the canopy of the property that I grew up in. Filled with colorful and sparkling DIY, my mother and I crafted whimsical details such as gold dinosaurs, sparkling pumpkins and gilded signage. Handmade wedding favors that I made and designed paired with Conservatorie Floral Design's beautiful bright centerpieces of cactus, succulent, and vibrant exotic flowers in varying antique glass jars. My mother also hand painted pumpkins for each table. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed drinks and hors d'oeuvres in my family barn with my horse, Sir Prize Me - eager for the carrots left in a nearby bucket.

Anti-theme Wedding Details

Between Lego inspired wedding favors, vintage elegance, colorful whimsy, and a very zombie cake topper, our wedding was all over the place in design - but through a very careful selection of excellent vendors, and a lot of DIY, our wedding proves that an anti-theme is not impossible to create and still have a seamless design for your wedding day.
