We love hearing from our panel of beauty pros about the latest and greatest beauty tricks. Today, we're lucky enough to hear from makeup pro Rachel Halsey, who sounds off on eyeliner tricks for various eye shapes.

There are infinite variations on eyeliner. It can be as subtle as lining upper lashline, inner rim or entire eye for some all-out, Egyptian-style drama. With so many great liner products out there, from pencils, to liquids to gels, the possibilities are endless and so much fun!

For Monolid Eyes...

For a glamorous night out, this look works on almost every eye shape, including those with little to no lid. Apply the liner over the entire lash line while flaring it outward for a cat-like look.

Liner markers (like L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Eye Liner) are great options, as they are mistake-proof, easy to apply and smudge-proof.

For Hooded Eyes...

For hooded peepers, you want to extend the liner outward to elongate and extend the shape. Draw a line close to the eyelashes (upper and/or lower) starting from the center of the eye to the outer edge. This is a look that you can wear daily, along with a coat or two of mascara and neutral shadows to achieve a clean, classic eye.

For Almond Eyes...

Drive home your eye shape with a more modern look of the outer wing, along with a slight inner-corner downward flick. Basically, you line the entire eye, inner and outer rim, extending your outer wing upward, and the inner wing downward into a tiny point to complete the rim of the eye. Using a waterproof liquid liner (like L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Waterproof Precision Liquid Eyeliner) with a sharp point is crucial for this delicate application. Once it's set, you have a uniquely beautiful eye reminiscent of Cleopatra.

For Wide Eyes...

For large eyes, try a smoky effect by lining the entire inner rim (upper and lower). You can do this with a black pencil liner, or any other color for that matter. A flash of jade (try Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil) on the eyes can be very beguiling. Just be sure to choose a water-resistant pencil so that won't smear. Combining the lining of the inner rim and the outer, is the best way to achieve a smoky look.
