Sweet West Virginia Engagement Shoot (With the Most Thoughtful Proposal Story)

Sweet West Virginia Engagement Shoot (With the Most Thoughtful Proposal Story)

via

We've haven't been featuring quite so many engagement shoots on the blog lately.

While we do adore them, (and we do have a few more gorgeous ones coming up, over the next couple of weeks), we've been siding with sharing useful or inspirational posts with you guys instead, so that we can best help you plan your weddings (and make the most of your precious blog-browsing time!)

But sometimes engagement shoots can inspire too.

They're gorgeous examples of stunning photography, they're uplifting tales of fate and hopeless romance. And if nothing else, seeing a couple pose candidly, in their natural habitat, in normal clothes; it reminds us what weddings are all about.

It's not about your big day, it's about your every day.

Not the stuff of Nicholas Sparks books or Disney movies, it's thrilling, exciting, run-of-the-mill, whose-turn-is-to-do-the-dishes, every day love.

And Julie and Seth's romantic, laid back, and natural West Virginia engagement session, photographed by the incredible (and so aptly named!) Lauren Love Photography shows just that.

No fussy props or fancy locations. Just an effortlessly cool couple, epically, head-over-heels in love.

Simple and fun, but so romantic too! (And the way Lauren Love captures the couple and the light is just spectacular!)

Treat your eyes to this pretty engagement session (and read about the extraordinary efforts Seth went to, to pop the question!)

Our Love Story

Julie and I first met, when we were in college. We met one morning at the City Mission, where we were both volunteering. When we met we realized that we had a lot of people we knew and places we went in common. Naturally, we started continually "coincidently" running into each other, every where we went, Starbucks, school, where we lived, and even randomly in other cities. It was very peculiar, but always enjoyable none the less. After getting to know one another for a period of time, it became very apparent that we were we very alike, our sense of humor, love for adventure, and the joy of a shared cup of coffee.. we simply complimented each other so well. We didn't chalk our friendship or relationship to chance, but rather, that God had much more in mind for us. I proposed to Julie in April of 2014 on my family's farm in Jackson Co. West Virginia. We both share a love for nature, hiking, and adventure, so I wanted our engagement to reflect that. I worked on cutting down some trees, while making a table and a bench for us to sit on, hanging christmas lights (her favorite), some of her favorite Mat Kearney songs, and her ring in a small cedar ring box I made for her. We arrived at the secluded wooded area at sunset, so it made for the perfect view. Julie, thankfully, said "yes"!"

Isn't it beautiful? I love Lauren's photography style.

And how amazing is Seth's story about the sunset table in the woods? The cedar ring box - wow!

Thanks so much to Lauren Love Photography, and the gorgeous Seth and Lauren for sharing their engagement story with us.
