Anthony and Sam's Green and Quirky Summer Wedding....

via

Morning Campers,

I hope you all had a good weekend.

There is just one word to describe today's real wedding, captured beautifully by the amazing Tarah Coonan Photography, and that is AWESOME. It is one of those weddings that I really wish I'd had an invite too. They had a game of tug of war..............need I say more!?

Ant and Sam said 'I do' at the beautiful Brick House Farm in Kent on the 23rd August 2014 at a wedding that was just full to the brim of gorgeous summer smiles, garden fete style games, pretty vintage decor and a guest appearance from two little ducks! Sam's boho bridal style is simply gorgeous and we are loving her auburn red hair coupled with a simple yet stunning wax flower wreath. She looked absolutely beautiful. Their personal blessing, held under a big oak tree, is also very dreamy and don't even get me started on her amazing Emporio Armani shoes that she found in a Brighton charity shop. What a find!

Ant and Sam wanted their day to be to be easy, simple and personal and to have as many of the people they loved there having fun as they possibly could. Judging from the pictures, I think you'll agree that they succeeded on every level.

Sam and Ant tell us all about it.....

Ant: I proposed to Sam on New Year's Eve in Sydney, we were there visiting friends and I carried around the ring in my pocket until I felt the time was right! Sam: Ant got down on one knee I was I shocked I just said 'are you sure are you sure?'

The venue itself is beautifully turned out. Rob and Caroline, the owners of Brick House Farm, have made it really quirky with lots of vintage farm yard props. We did get in the day before and raided maid of honour Jessie's garden for free foliage and vines to decorate! We also collected and printed off past family photos. Anthony's mum is a collector so there were some amazing photos from right back to Victorian times.

We had our official ceremony in a barn, but to keep cost down we only invited a few people to that and to the wedding breakfast. We then had a 'blessing' under a big oak tree, we could do our own vows, we had our parents and Sam's god parents give us words of wisdom and we did all the speeches. It meant we could do the vows in front of everybody and we were very lucky with the weather! We handed out song sheets and everybody joined in some songs.

We did a lot of things ourselves, to save on budget, but the place we splashed out was on our photographer. Photos are so important, it's the only bit you keep! Lots of people now rely on camera phones and uploads to Facebook but when we got our photos back I was so so pleased we went with Tarah Coonan, it's a part of the day we can keep forever.

What was your first dance and why? Anthony actually wrote our first dance. We don't really have 'a song' and we didn't want to pick something random. Ant did a couple of wedding videos for Tom Williams and The Boat a band in our home town and Tom was wonderful and he and his lovely girlfriend came and performed it at the wedding. It was the first time I heard it as we danced so it was quite emotional!

Don't follow the rules just because you think you should, do whatever it is that will make you both happy, enjoy every second, and every second of planning. Try and stay present and enjoy every second!
