Relaxed Vintage Feel Stylish Country Blue Wedding - Whimsical...

Oh my, this wedding is sure to put a big fat smile on your face this morning.

Laura and Ralph were married on Saturday 4 October 2014, nestled in the Welsh countryside. Think stylish attire, vintage inspired elements and a relaxed atmosphere all round. YES.

Laura donned one of my favourite ever gowns, Esme by Jenny Packham with sparkle heels and wavy hair. Ralph donned French Connection with floral print accessories and statement buttonhole, while the maids wore pretty pale blue Ted Baker frocks. Gorgeous!

I adore the vibrant blue florals, the pastel pom poms and the appearance by Laura's horse Glen.

Thanks so very much to Cassandara Lane Photography for sharing these exquisite images with us today.

THE PROPOSAL | On 4 October 2013, 10 years to the day we first met we took a walk up a steep hill to 'Rodney's Pillar' near to where we live. It's a beautiful place and the highest point around, but we never got to the top as it started getting dark! So, on our way back down Ralph got down on one knee and popped the question (I thought he'd never ask!).

THE VISION | A relaxed vintage country wedding.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | I must admit I did find it difficult to set aside time to plan. I wanted family and friends to be involved so I trusted them with jobs - it also had the benefit of keeping costs as low as possible.

THE VENUE | Ceremony - St Nicholas Church in Churchstoke, Powys where I grew up. Reception - Montgomery Town Hall in Montgomery, Powys where my dad's family is from.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | It was a beautiful beaded number from Jenny Packham called Esme. My shoes were silver and sparkly and were from Karen Millen. My headpiece was made by my mother-in-law Tracey and it included hydrangeas and fancy chicken feathers (she's a very talented lady).

FINDING THE DRESS | The dress was the one I had my heart set on from the start (well the second, as the first was just too expensive!). I bought it from Amy Louise Bridal in Nantwich, Cheshire which was the closest around which sold Jenny Packham dresses. They were fab.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | A blue three-piece suit from French Connection.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | I chose just one reading which was the words to 'Memories Are Made of This'. My good friend Abi read it in church. I entered to the church to a soloist signing Ave Maria (it was amazing and I didn't want her to stop!). The hymns I chose were Lord of the Dance and Morning Has Broken (both favourites of my mum's). Whilst we were signing the register the choir sang Amazing Grace and Calon Lan which was sung in Welsh.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My sister Rachel, best friend Nadine and Ralph's sisters Georgie and Nina. They wore pastel blue and pink dresses from Ted Baker and their own nude colour shoes.

THE FLOWERS | The bouquets were blue hydrangeas and blue/silver thistles beautifully arranged by Poppy's in Welshpool. The flowers in the church were bought from a wholesalers and arranged by Ralph's mum Tracey and grandma Dorothy. The button holes were made my Ralph's mum Tracey. For the tables I bought blue hydrangea plants and put them in zinc planters (I think they worked out about £5 each).

THE CAKE | The cake was made and iced by Ralph's aunty Bev. It was a carrot cake.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Cassandra Lane Photography. Cass really captured the day perfectly and wasn't fazed at all (well, not much anyway!) when I said I wanted my horse Glen to be included!

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | As I said before, everyone played their part in decorating the church and the venue. We used vintage poster prints, a sweetie trolley (belonging to Ralph's step dad Ian), paper pom poms and a vintage typewriter as the guest book. My aunty Sue made the cassis from blackcurrants in our garden. We also had a beautiful three course meal. I had lots of compliments for my invites which included a sketch of Montgomery Town Hall, courtesy of Ralph's mum Tracey.

THE HONEYMOON | A safari in Tanzania and relaxation in Zante - it was amazing.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Getting ready - we were all super relaxed and were ready way before the ceremony (me and dad even got to the church early). Travelling to the church with my dad in Ralph's granddad's beautiful vintage car. The soloist signing Ave Maria in the church. Ralph and his best man's speech - they both brought a tear to my eye. And I think the best man made everyone cry! Dancing the night away and spending the day with the people I love.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Don't let anyone stress you out! I was very relaxed about the whole process but could have easily got carried away. Trust your family and friends to help - they will feel involved and it will save you a lot of money.
