When the wedding venue is as breathtaking as Lake Como, often times hardly any decoration is even needed to transform the space into something magical. However, the luxe florals by Rattiflora left our jaws on the floor in this real wedding. Every detail, like the rings displayed on a bed of roses, was so beautiful and thoughtful, which makes the intimate gathering that much more special. We can only image what it was like to take in the awe-inspiring scenery of this lovely wedding, but thankfully the talented Victoria Phipps Photography captured the moments so well, we feel as though we could have been there...

From Victoria Phipps Photography: "Kamilla & Ivan contacted me just weeks before their three day lakeside wedding celebration in Como, Italy. Happily it was all set to take place on the only weekend I still had available in August last year, so I was thrilled to be asked to capture their love story!

It was obvious from the beginning that the bride & groom's priority was to show their family and friends the best time in this truly idyllic location. The weekend was carefully curated by the ladies from Join Us Italy, with an elegant cocktail party on the Friday evening to kick start the weekend and a fabulous chartered lake cruise on the Sunday. The wedding itself took place on the Saturday afternoon at Villa Erba; a grand 18th Century villa, adorned with ancient frescoes and intricate inlaid ceilings. Whilst the house is beautiful, the location is really special, offering views right across the lake to the mountains beyond. It's hard to imagine a more romantic place to get married. There were beautiful displays of ivory and pale pink roses everywhere, as well as gypsophila and hydrangea. The refreshment tables were laden with flowers, fresh fruit and champagne. The pagoda under which the ceremony took place was completely covered in flowers and greenery. The chair backs were decorated with roses and the aisle was marked with a heavy stream of ivory petals. The orders of service were printed on individual fans and placed on each chair ready for the guests. Kamilla was led to the ceremony by her proud father and as she approached from the Villa it was wonderful to see all their friends and family (not to mention the groom!) turn and smile so broadly. She wore a stunning Vera Wang dress which glided beautifully as she walked. There were no official bridesmaids or groomsmen, so all the ladies could choose their own dresses and they all looked fabulous! During the ceremony two of the couple's friends sang an opera duet, which was very moving given the italian lakeside scene. Canapés and drinks were served on the terrace after the ceremony, before guests made their way into the ornate dining room for the wedding breakfast. The meal was punctuated by numerous happy speeches where family members were invited to share their own stories about the couple and offer personal congratulations. As the breakfast drew to a close and the light faded, we could hear the beginnings of a thunderstorm rumbling to the north. Kamilla & Ivan had arranged the most fantastic firework display over the lake, which was then accompanied by Mother Nature with her own lightning strikes. It really was a sight to behold. Soon came the inevitable downpour of rain and so the party continued inside the Villa where the guests danced energetically late into the night, fuelled by an endless supply of delicious sugared almonds!"
