It always makes my heart sing when a bride gets in touch to feature her super beautiful nuptials, which is exactly what WWW reader Rebecca did. Andrew and Rebecca tied the knot back in August at Sandburn Hall in York.

They envisioned a whimsical and soft wedding with cute woodland and nature inspired touches. I love so many of the personal details from the squirrel cake toppers to those pink chairs and the twinkling fairy lights.

The blooms were just something else, the fresh pale pink pretty flowers worked so well amongst the sage green accents. Rebecca looked enchanting in Dentelle by Jenny Packham with flowers in her hair. Love.

THE PROPOSAL | Andrew and I met in school at the age of about 13/14 and have been together since we were 16 so the proposal was a very long time coming - we are 25 now! We were on our first proper holiday together in Corfu in July 2013 and we were going out for our first meal of the holiday when Andrew suggested going for a walk on the beach first. After what felt like a 60 mile hike (I have since realised this is so he could find somewhere quiet) and me whining the whole time about how hungry I was, he finally got down on one knee and popped the question. Needless to say I was very surprised and no longer that hungry!

THE VISION | We knew straight away that we wanted quite a natural/rustic/woodland kind of theme for the wedding with lots of hessian and pretty pastel colours and that vision didn't change during the whole planning process. We wanted everything to be very soft, whimsical and quintessentially English feeling.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of the planning process and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. We started planning the wedding almost immediately after we returned from our holiday and had booked the venue and ordered my dress within about 3 weeks of getting engaged! It goes without saying that there were extremely stressful times in the planning process but it is 100% worth all the blood, sweat and tears when you see it all come together on the big day.

BUDGET | We very naively didn't really set out with a budget in mind and we had no idea just how much a wedding costs. We realised pretty quickly that we were going to have to be much more organised with the planning and costings, queue lots of spreadsheets and note books!

THE VENUE | With a serious aversion to patterned carpets, we set out with it in mind that we really wanted a country barn venue with lots of beams and exposed brick but after a great deal of searching we realised we weren't going to be able to find anything like that which we could afford in the Yorkshire area. I booked a viewing for Sandburn Hall in York along with a bunch of other venues that didn't appear to have any garish carpets and the second we walked in to the beautiful oak beamed room with the vast glass windows, we knew it was just what we wanted!

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | I wore Jenny Packham's 'Dentelle' wedding dress with a lace trimmed cathedral length veil and a vintage pearl necklace that my mum and I picked up for £6 at a car boot sale.

FINDING THE DRESS | I went to 2 bridal shops on my search for the perfect dress and had 2 VERY different experiences. I left the first shop feeling fat, deflated and defeated thanks to a less than friendly store owner and this made me even more nervous for my 2nd appointment which was in a much "posher" shop. The staff at The Bridal Collection in Harrogate however, couldn't have been more of a contrast and in turn I had the most wonderful experience in their store. I tried on around 7 different dresses, 5 of which were Jenny Packham's, and I could have happily worn any one of them on the big day. I finally settled on Jenny Packham 'Dentelle', a beautiful silk chiffon gown that nipped in at the waist with lace cap sleeves and a full flowing skirt.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | We were initially going to buy suits for Andrew, the best men and our dads as Andrew really wanted a slim fitting suit, but luckily it was just after we had started the hunt that Slater's brought out their first slim fit 3 piece hire suit. We ordered it in the light grey as this complimented our pastel colour scheme and found the perfect shade of sage green slim fit tie on Swagger & Swoon to match the bridesmaid dresses. I bought Andrew a pewter stag head tie clip and matching cuff links to go with our woodland theme as part of his wedding present and my mum bought him an antique pocket watch that finished the look off perfectly.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Whilst we didn't have any readings during the ceremony, the music was so important to us in the planning process and we spent many a night with a glass of wine in hand putting together playlists for the ceremony itself, the wedding breakfast and the evening celebrations. I walked down the aisle to 'Arrival of the Birds' by Cinematic Orchestra (sob) and we walked out to 'Ho Hey' by The Lumineers. Our first dance was to Adele 'Hiding My Heart' but that was quite frankly more of just an awkward shuffle and the only part of the whole day I don't wish to relive!

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | We had 2 of my cousins Abbi and Molly, Andrew's sister Catherine and my 2 oldest friends Fiona and Sarah as bridesmaids - they all looked stunning in sage green dresses we managed to get in the sale at Debenham's for around £60 each. We also had beautiful little Lily as our flower girl who is the daughter of bridesmaid Abbi and best man James, she looked absolutely adorable trotting up the aisle in a pretty little embroidered dress we found in TK Maxx for only about £20!

THE FLOWERS | The flowers were stunning and from a lovely lady in Ripon called Sheila Danby who grows a lot of them herself in her beautiful garden. Sheila knew exactly what we meant when we explained we wanted them to look rustic and put together the perfect bouquets of sweet avalanche roses, pale pink hydrangeas, freesias, lavender and pink astilbe as well as loads of fresh garden herbs and greenery for me and the bridesmaids. She also provided the stunning centre pieces and absolutely covered the banister of the stairs at the venue in ivy and Gypsophila which looked incredible as soon as you entered the doors!

THE CAKE | Andrew and I are totally obsessed with squirrels (No really - it's taking over our house and is starting to look less cute, more weird as time goes on) so when we saw the squirrel bride and groom cake toppers on Etsy we knew we had to have them before we had even sorted the cake! We saw Gaynor from Cakes Unlimited when we were browsing through Sandburn Hall's recommended suppliers and she managed to produce just what we wanted, a simple 3 tiered cake (2 tiers carrot cake, 1 tier death by chocolate FYI) wrapped with hessian and finished off with the cute little squirrels perched on top!

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | We probably found choosing a photographer the most difficult part of the whole planning process. There is just so much choice out there, some are insanely expensive, and it is also such a personal taste thing that there was so much to take into consideration. We knew straight away that we wanted someone who would take a more naturalistic approach to wedding photography as we didn't want anything too awkward or posey. The searching stopped as soon as we found Emily Hannah's website, we liked her photos so much that we paid the deposit before even meeting her! It seemed like fate a couple of days later when we turned on Don't Tell the Bride to see her on there having her own wedding! Emily was SO lovely and made us feel so at ease, I would highly, highly recommend her if you are looking for a photographer that will take beautiful natural images without any awkwardness.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | I think the small details are so important at a wedding and definitely the things that make the biggest impact. The surprise big hit of the day was the basket full of flip flops for the evening so the ladies could all have a dance and kick off their heels. They were only cheapy £1 pairs from Primark so it was a really inexpensive thing to do, but arranged nicely and with a cute little 'Dancing Shoes' sign, they were such a talking point on the night. Our favours also went down really well which were tiny little bags of M&M's with mine and Andrew's faces on! They worked out at about £75 for 100 personalised wedding favours and all it took was a bit of time and effort to get them counted into their little bags and tied with some pretty brown card tags. Another big hit was the photo booth which provided some entertainment in the evening and also left us with a book full of silly pictures and messages from our guests which is lovely to look back on.

THE HONEYMOON | We had an amazing 10 night all inclusive honeymoon to Cyprus a couple of days after the wedding and were blessed with glorious 40 degree sunshine every single day! Pretty much all of our time was spent lounging around the infinity pool or drinking wine and eating good food. We are heading to Jamaica for our first anniversary this August too eek!

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | By far the most memorable moments for me were the speeches, I had been so good with holding back the tears until then but I was an absolute mess the second my dad opened his mouth! The biggest surprise was a video the best men, Dann and James, had put together. It was a 15 minute video of our friends and family telling funny stories and facts about us which was played on a big projector for everyone to see; we were both completely blown away by it and it was so unexpected!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Try to not get talked in to who you should and shouldn't invite, it is your day and you should be surrounded by all the people you love!
