Relaxed Happy & Classic Pink Afternoon Tea Wedding - Whimsical...

This happy wedding is sure to put a smile on your face this afternoon.

WWW readers Joe and Alma were married on the 20th July 2014 at Stubton Hall in Lincolnshire, a stunning country house surrounded by idyllic gardens. They hoped for a relaxed day with rustic home made touches.

With a scrumptious afternoon tea wedding breakfast and stylish naked cake, the culinary choices looked delicious. I adore the pink blooms paced in vintage crockery and lolly stick order of service stationery.

Alma looked so very chic in her princess Enzoani gown with her hair in an elegant up do. Beautiful.

Thanks so much to Firsthand Photography for sharing these lovely photographs.

THE PROPOSAL | A very busy Rialto Bridge, Venice, 2013.

THE VISION | A relaxed, happy rustic wedding!

THE PLANNING PROCESS | To make the process personal we wanted to put our own creativity and personality into the day. We really enjoyed planning and DIY'ing as a couple and it was lovely to see it all come together.

THE VENUE | We looked at many different types of venue to suit our rustic theme but we found our perfect match in Stubton Hall, Newark. Stubton Hall is a secluded and beautiful setting which didn't require us to decorate too much as the décor was a mix between old and new. We had the venue to ourselves, which was very important to us as our guests were able to stay over as well as being able to enjoy the fantastic views and gardens.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | A princess style, ivory lace and satin Blue by Enzoani. My dress had a lace upper and a ribbon belt around the waist with a satin skirt and small train with layers and layers of net underneath for swirling around in! I chose not to have a veil as I felt it would be too much with the lace upper on my dress and decided to go for a very sparkly headband by Alan Hannah from Debenhams. My accessories included satin Jenny Packham shoes and a vintage pearl and satin bag which belonged to my Grandmother.

FINDING THE DRESS | This was a very enjoyable experience! With so many different beautiful dresses to choose from I did find it difficult to just choose the one. The original idea I had was to have a nice long lace fishtail dress but as soon as I tried on other styles I began to change my mind. I did eventually find 'the one' as soon as I tried it on, it suited the feel of the wedding and the venue in Nottingham at Dream Wedding Dress.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | The groom, best man and ushers wore blue suits from Moss Bros. a navy knitted tie and a hand made pink gingham pocket square with rustic dried flower button holes. All groomsmen were wearing polka dot socks and tan brogues.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | From the beginning we knew we wanted to have a string quartet to play during the ceremony and drinks reception, we looked online and found an amazing string quartet called Highly Strung, they were perfect, as they played a wide range of music from Etta James to Take That! I walked down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon in D and for the signing of the register we had All About You by McFly and It Must Be Love by Madness! When it was time to party Just Ben played two amazing live sets to our guests and my sister surprised me with an acoustic performance (with Ben) of Your Song by Ellie Goulding. Our first dance was to Better Together by Jack Johnson.

My sister-in-law kindly read A Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton and my Mother-in-law read a poem called 'You Are My Cup of Tea'.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I knew I wanted the bridesmaid dresses to be in a blush pink as this is my favourite colour. At first the task of finding a bridesmaid dress that would suit all of them did seem like a challenge especially when you have something in mind. After a little online research I found the relevant shops that stocked Alfred Angelo. I had 3 bridesmaids and as soon as they tried on a few Alfred Angelo dresses we found one that suited all 3 of them. It was a long blush pink dress with a crossover front and mesh upper to compliment my wedding dress.

THE FLOWERS | The flowers were by my local florist Branching Out. At our first meeting I had a pile of magazine cuttings and Branching Out were great at understanding what I wanted. I knew I wanted a mix of pinks and whites but also a rustic look. We decided to have gypsophila as the bridesmaid bouquets and on the end chairs in the ceremony room. For the wedding breakfast we had afternoon tea and had the flowers in teacups and jam jars not forgetting the top table in which we had flowers in a tea pot.

THE CAKE | I've never really been too keen on icing so I knew I wanted something a little different for my wedding cake. The Organic Cake Company in Nottingham made a very delicious naked 3 tiered cake sprinkled with icing sugar and decorated with fresh fruit. The cake was presented on a rustic tree stump.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Our photographer was Jacqueline Tinney. We could not have hoped for a better photographer. I'm not very good at taking photos and usually the one who's blinking as the picture is being taken. Jacqueline was amazing at making myself, Joe and our family and guests feel comfortable with having our picture taken. For our style of photos for the day we really wanted to capture the moment as we didn't want to have a camera to record the wedding. Our photos came out beautifully and we can re-live the day when looking through them.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Invites, table plans and even the sweetie buffet were handmade! We really enjoyed the whole process as each detail we had was bespoke to us and met our requirements perfectly.

THE HONEYMOON | For our honeymoon we chose a beautiful 5 star hotel (with our own private pool!) in Kos, Greece. We had a fabulous, relaxing time as well as being able to explore the island and sample the amazing food. We visited a small, quaint village in Greece that was something out of Mama Mia! When we weren't soaking up the sun we took to visiting an active volcano (very smelly!) and also tried our hand at jet skiing.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | We will never forget any part of the day, it was perfect. The location, the guests, the music and the food made our day so special. Having my sister dedicate a song to us both was a lovely surprise and she did a great job.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Firstly, enjoy the whole process from planning to the big day itself. Make sure that you are both involved as it is a magical time in your life.
