When we received Mary and Idan's beautiful wedding album, we couldn't stay indifferent. Their emotional journey coupled with her breathtaking look (after all she is a model) and the work of professional photographers who happen to be part of our dream team ( Luz), just made it seem as if we're looking at a photoshoot taken from an international magazine! The natural choice of their wedding venue, Saba Well, just added a whole lot of glam.

Mary and Idan's story is a story about brining hearts closer together - what seemed impossible at first turned out to be a beautiful love story between the couple and among their families.

Mary's beauty is composed of different backgrounds: she is half Filipino and half Thai, and has a bit of Spanish and Chinese mixed in. Throw it all together and you get one stunning bride. She's not only got the looks but also the brains and the talent as she is a 3D simulation designer for Architects. Idan, her husband works for a startup company. According to Mary, they are a couple of geeks, but we find it hard to believe that. They met in the army while they served in the same unit but they only started dating when they were discharged from the army.

Mary comes from a Catholic-religious home and at the beginning, Mary's mom didn't approve of their relationship and even kicked her out of the house up to the point where they hadn't spoken for six years. Her father, on the other habd, although he was half way across the world supported them. After six years of a wonderful relationship, Idan finally proposed to Mary after a long romantic week in Paris. She of course said yes. Mary tells us that Idan's family have been very supportive and welcoming and they have always made her feel like she is family: "Through Idan's family I understood what family is all about and I love them very much and am grateful that they accepted me with open arms and with zero prejudice."

Mary and Idan's wedding was an extremely emotional and happy event - not only was her mom finally accepting of their marriage, but also after a long seven year negotiation with the Ministry of the Interior trying to bring Mary's dad back to Israel, he was finally able to return home. After 12 years abroad he finally received an Israeli citizenship and managed to catch up on lost times with his family. Sounds like a good drama film with a happy ending, however that was one family's reality, their journey.

When it came to the ceremony, it was important for them to have someone who truly knows them to perform the marriage ceremony and not a stranger, that's why it was only natural that they chose Mary's grandmother, Gila Almagor, who also happens to be a well-known actress. In their mind, there was no one else more suitable for that important role as Gila knows their story best. The ceremony had a wonderful combination of the two cultures: It included Jewish customs such as the breaking of the gas well as Filipino customs such as bridesmaids and tying a rope around the married couple which symbolizes their eternal union and bond while the loops represent their love.

There's no doubt that Mary & Idan's journey was quite rough and had some bumps along the way, but at the end of the day, their wedding had wonderful implications while one family was finally brought together and hearts were united.
