A wedding in Douro Valley by itself sounds pretty amazing to me but throw in a romantic cruise on a riverboat and you've pretty much got my undivided attention! Planning a destination wedding in Portugal from their home in Switzerland was no laughing matter but determined to marry in such beautiful surounds, Sophie & Duarte got to it and planned their perfect wedding day that a downpour of rain couldn't even spoil. Family and friends from all around Europe gathered in the small village of Pinhao to celebrate with Sophie and Duarte and our fab favourite Jesús Caballero Photography did a usual and captured the most beautiful of days.

"After getting married in a catholic ceremony in the church of Pinhao, Sophie and Duarte travelled back to the Vintage House Hotel by riverboat and enjoyed their first few moments of married life looking out at the Douro river."Planning a wedding from another country is always a little complicated but Sophie and Duarte decided to organise a fantastic wedding in one of the most authentic regions of Portugal, the Douro Valley from Switzerland because of Duarte's ancestral connection with the valley. The couple decided get married in a very unique hotel known as the Vintage House Hotel where it was possible to delight on the views of the surrounding hilltop vineyards and the breathtaking Douro River.
