Engagement sessions are so special for many reasons. We love to see the heart-felt and romantic expressions on the lovebirds' faces as oftentimes the engagement session is one of the first "official" engaged activities for the couple! The engagement period is filled with so many events, gifts and preparations, but the time is fleeting so enjoy every single minute. We also advocate engagement sessions because this allows you to get accustomed to your photographer, who will be with you more than anyone else on your wedding day... including your new husband or wife! A great way to feel comfortable with your photographer's style and ease your mind about the photo-taking process is to test it out as an engaged couple.

Here we love this simple, yet sweet and intimate engagement session by The Great Romance Photo. This sweet couple used a few personal props like the groom's guitar and old books (activities that the couple really likes to do!) to create a portrait session that truly felt like them. For the look, we heart the bride's feminine and simple ivory colored dress ( a maxi option and a colored option ...) and the groom's lightweight shirts...

From the bride: "I was born and raised in Orange County, California while Daniel grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We met our freshman year at Pepperdine University and became fast friends in psychology class. Our friendship grew into love our junior year, and we dated for the next 5 years. Two years ago, Daniel had a job opportunity in New Jersey, and our long distance relationship provided not only additional challenges to face but allowed immense growth for us as a couple and individually as well.

During last year's final visit to California, Daniel popped the question the day after Christmas at the place we first said "I love you" to each other. It happened in a picnic area by my apartment in Calabasas that she lived in during our college years. It's very close to the place we ultimately decided as the location for our engagement shoot-Malibu Creek State Park. We envisioned our shoot to be romantic, natural, and scenic with plenty of trees and soft lighting. Connie and Tommy were amazing artists that used the yellow and green palette to its fullest potential. We also wanted to add a few personal things to some of our photos-a guitar, some old books, and a picnic blanket. We had so much fun and felt very comfortable through the session with Connie and Tommy's gentle guidance." Vendor Details
