Today we are channeling our inner hippies and taking a trip to the woods for a Woodstock inspired shoot with Glory Day's Vintage, Shutter Go Click Photography, Special Day Films, Hula Hair, Campbell's Flowers and Makeup Artist, Victoria Farr.

Set in a beautiful bluebell woodland and featuring Rose and Sami, two 70's looking chicks from folk rock band Zealous Doxy, the shoot aimed to capture the unkempt yet enchanting style of the well renowned Woodstock hippie. If only time travel were possible and we could all witness what an incredible festival Woodstock must have been.

Hayley from Glory Day's Vintage, along with all of the suppliers involved, talk us through this awesome styled shoot.

It turns out I'm not very good on the banjo but I take an alright picture... Although flower crowns are at the height of their popularity at the moment, we are finding that many of our brides are looking to incorporate fresh flowers into their chosen hair style and so Katy and I felt it would be fun to use a selection of flowers along with some of her feathers to create a really pretty, bobo look. Finally, Ryan heroically helped us drag our 6ft heart frame through the woods to nestle it amongst the bluebells! We decorated it with fronds of foliage, lots of trailing amaranthus, tanacetum and chrysanthemum daisies
and some soft white gypsophila.

Hayley from Glory Day's Vintage: I wanted to do a 1970's style shoot that was very relaxed and low key, inspired by all the photos I've seen of the hippies at Woodstock; they all seemed to look so unkempt but somehow totally enchanting at the same time! With this in mind we chose more informal dresses, all original 1970s pieces which were mostly in natural fabrics like lace and cotton. We teamed them with leather boots and suede jackets, stacked bangles and layered necklaces to give our models that air of dishevelled glamour. The girls from Zealous Doxy were just the perfect models for the look we wanted, and their music's pretty goddamn amazing too! I handpicked a team of creatives all of whom I'd worked with before and who I knew could deliver the subtly distinctive look I wanted, and as the sun went down behind the bluebell wood and the strains of Rose's banjo and Sami's vocals wound around the trees it was a magical moment indeed!

Ryan from Shutter Go Click: When I was carrying the heavy stand of a 6 foot metal heart through woodland in Selby trying to be a man about it, "ooh this is as light as a feather, I could carry three." whilst dying inside, I was still thinking... I love my job. When I got lost in the forest on my own looking for a giant bucket of flowers I was still thinking... I love my job. When I grass stained my favourite black Jeans after face planting blue bells seeking 'the magical shot of awesomeness' I was still thinking... I really do love my job. But above all else when I heard the enchanting tunes of Zealous Doxy amidst the dwindling sunlight I was thinking...Give me that bloody banjo I want your job...

Make-Up Artist Victoria Farr: The brief of Woodstock was exciting and fresh so when I saw the inspiration board from Hayley I was sold! The majority of brides I work with prefer a much more polished style to their wedding make
up, so to experiment with a more 'worn in' look and to use glitter in a way that is not too 'disco' was great for this festival themed shoot. Using one of the girls looks for a smokey and smudgy eye liner and keeping the base
free from blush or colour and to keep it really stripped back and have the main focus on the eyes. For the second model, I wanted to use glitter but again in a way that looked subtle and not disco and the use of bronzers and
warm golds on the eyes which complimented the model's eye colour and skin tone.

Tracey from Campbell's Flowers: In keeping with the really laid back, festival vibe, I designed two bouquets for each of the models. One was an oversized, wildflower bouquet designed in our trademark 'just picked' style; filled with tanacetum and aster daisies, wispy green bell foliage and some dried limonium for texture. The second piece mirrored current trends for larger, more asymmetric bouquets full of textured blooms, featuring lots of gorgeous foliage and soft delicate, trails in a pretty palette of lemons, limes, creams and greens. We used daisies, roses, dahlia, sweet scented
stocks and amaranthus for the pretty trails.

Adam from Special Day Films: One of the interesting things about filmmaking jobs like this is that your contribution starts just as everyone else's is coming to an end. You have minimal input in the planning or preparation and when you arrive you have to be ready to adapt and go with the flow and be ready to capture the moments that you'll want to take away and work with in the edit. I like to think the final film does justice to everyone else's hard work!
