20 Gorgeous Sweetheart Tables

20 Gorgeous Sweetheart Tables

The sweetheart table is the couple's best friend at their wedding. Giving them a space to relax, eat, and enjoy this party they've spend countless months planning, a sweetheart table is also a blast to decorate. You know that your photographer is going to take plenty of pictures of you sitting here during dinner and the toasts, so make sure your table looks exactly how you want it to! Here are 20 sweetheart tables, incorporating popular trends and great style, that we think are pretty amazing.

Loads of Greenery

One of our favorite decor techniques for sweetheart tables is garlands of greenery. Although plenty of couples do this throughout their reception tables, that floral budget can max out pretty quick. If you don't have the moolah for this lush look at every table, just do it at the sweetheart table for a big impact.

Don't forget the backs of the chairs, especially if you aren't sitting with your back to a wall. These greenery-heavy decorations transform these basic folding chairs into something really spectacular.

Lots o' Flowers

Some brides love their flowers, and they will buy an off-the-rack clearance wedding dress in order to cover their reception in beautiful arrangements. If you can relate, then you will probably love the sweetheart table below, with its high arrangements in the background and the front of the table surrounded with roses.

Don't give much value to "less is more"? Was the above table still not enough for you? Then we present you with possibly the most opulent sweetheart table backdrop we've ever seen:

This "framed" wall of flowers is a total stunner, and if this doesn't make you feel like a celebrity, we don't know what will. Of course, if you suffer from allergies, this concept is probably not for you.

Light it Up

Nothing is quite so retro chic as marquee lighting, and we love it for sweetheart tables as a statement piece. Below, this couple kept their charming sweetheart table really simple with a small floral arrangement and white linens with gold rick rack. Behind them is all the drama with a giant "love" in lights.

The impressive sweetheart table below was actually the work of the groom, who is an artist. This table would be cool enough with its paper flower backdrop and greenery swags, but the marquee monogram complements the whole look impeccably.

Rustic Charm

When it comes to decorating a classic rustic sweetheart table, just remember the bunting. Whether its in burlap, lace, or floral fabric, this mainstay of rustic chic decor looks adorable on your table. The couple below added a little glitz to their burlap with gold glitter letters.

But you can also add color with patterned flags (below, left) or combine the bunting with sweet wreaths to decorate the backs of your chairs (below, right).

All About the Glow

Not that brides need any help with their glow-their mega watt smiles are already lighting up their receptions. But every gal knows that warm candlelight is the perfect #nofilter situation. Candles are generally very budget friendly depending on the holders you prefer, so use as much or as little as you like. The sweetheart table below chose to outline their tables with orderly votives.

This luxe table highlighted their silk rose table linens with a ton of bright candles in varying heights.

For a cozier vibe, keep your candles low and scatter them around. Bonus points if your sweetheart table can manage to be in front of a romantic fire!

Bold & Colorful

For technicolor weddings, no regular sweetheart table will do, so bring on the bold brights! Makeover a plain table with the help of geronimo balloons with multicolored streamers (below). This couple was also brilliant to think of adding a basket of cherries (just in case dinner gets delayed).

Below, whether you are having a modern wedding or one with a fiesta theme, this sweetheart table is divine. With tons of paper fans and poms hanging overhead and layered linens on the table, this is a design for a vibrant and vivacious couple!

A Dash of Sparkle

If one detail has emerged as the winner of 2015, it's the sequined tablecloth. Adding a serious dose of metallic razzle-dazzle to your sweetheart table, this is a quick way to go glam in a flash. Accompanied with tufted chairs and mercury glass votives, this table below would fit in with a wide variety of wedding themes.

Available in many different sparkly shades, you can incorporate your pink palette with a rose gold tablecloth (below, left) or go with a bright gold one for a glittering statement (below, right).

A Good Place to Sit

Of course, the chairs are important, too. In the sweetheart tables you've seen throughout this post, you'll notice the seating is just as diverse as the decor. Traditional reception seating is either wooden folding or Chiavari chairs. But even if the rest of your crowd is using those, that doesn't mean you have to. Bring in mismatched chairs for a vintage wedding or overstuffed chairs for a shabby chic one. Below, this lakefront inspiration session used white chairs from their porch.

This softly decorated table used a loveseat with a high back behind their substantial wooden table at a vineyard wedding.
